Driving times from South Lake tahoe to Las vegas

Hi As part of our upcoming honeymoon my wife and I are going to be driving from Las vegas to South Lake Tahoe. Could anyoen give me a realistic idea of how long this will take - we've hired a 4x4 - and also where people would recommend to stop over? We intend to cover the distance over 2 days. Any help would be much appreciated!! Kinda gather its a fair trek but we're committed so will have to make do!! Thanks anyone Jamie

    Hi.. Did you make the trip? we travel that route all the time.. staight though is about 9 hours.. but there are some stops along the way.. you must stop in Tonopah/ Goldfield.. very interesting there..Also Hawthorne has a Casino to get grub in and sleep it you want to stop on the half way point..hope you enjoyed the trip..
