Is ThanksGiving break a good time for skiing in Lake Tahoe

Hi I am planning to go to Lake Tahoe for skiing during the ThanksGiving weekend. This is my first time and I dont know much about skiing. Is ThanksGiving break really a good time for skiing in Lake Tahoe. I have got some 'yes' answers and some 'no' answers, so I am confused now. Somebody please tell me. Thanks Sandy
