Volcanic ash in Selfoss, Iceland

by debbie1960 Online Now May 24, 2011 at 8:31 AM

Could anyone please tell me how Selfoss has been affected by the volcanic ash. We are due to travel there very soon. If our flight is not cancelled we may have to consider rescheduling the trip and any information about the conditions at the moment would be very helpful.

The volcanic eruption is over now.
There is no problem with ashes in Selfoss or around.
We are beginning helping people south of the glacier Vatnajökull cleaning the area of the ashes and it will probably be finished next week, since a lot of people are helping.
Please don't change anything in your trip and don't worry.

I just did a tour the other day all the way to Jokulsarlon and all is very good.
