Hello! We are 5 students coming from Romania and we need housing in Myrtle Beach, if possible near Dunes Village Resort/Pine Lakes Country Club because we will work there. Thank you.
I would like to add that we won't make any problems, we will pay our rent/utilities at time. We just want to "work and travel" :)
On Our Route down to Miami we have planned for an overnight stop at (North) Myrtle Beach. But in fact, finding a place to stay seems to be difficult as we don't really like these gigantic, overcrowded complexes and hidden Gems like B&B's do not seem to exist in this area. Also it might be close to impossible to rent a condo for just 1 night. So Your help would be highly appreciated.
Hi 3 friends and myself are heading to Myrtle beach at the end of the month to work. We have a motel confirmed but are trying to find a condo/apartment with cooking facilities etc. Also we are confused about Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. Which one would be better for j1 students in terms of nightlife,jobs,accommodation....
Is north myrtle beach more of a golf/upclass resort? We are finding it hard to get accommodation in the main myrtle beach area. Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Does anyone have a favorite station on Sullivan's for taking photos? I am having a family photo taken soon and would love to get it on a cute boardwalk or nice entrance to the beach? Maybe sand dunes? Since I have small kids I can't walk up and down the beach looking. Any thoughts.
I am planning a surprise trip to Charleston for my best friends birthday this weekend. We will be staying on Isle of Palms. I am looking for things for us to do, he is very into craft beer so I know somehow I have to work that in. I am looking for special events or general things to do. We are currently staying in shipyard plantation until the day before Easter. I would love to know where the best places to view dolphins are at and if they're best seen at high tide or lower. We will be taking a dolphin cruise near the end of our stay but we'd all love to view them sooner! Thank you all.
My wife and I will be traveling to Myrtle Beach for a couple of days before heading to Charleston SC and Savannah Ga. I haven't been to Myrtle Beach in a long time and was wondering if is still better to stay North of the amusement park or is south nice too. We will have a rental car but we do prefer to walk to a place for dinner and drinks. What hotels would you reconmend that are on the beach and near the the restaurants and bars? Thanks,
Hello, I'm travelling from Michigan to Raleigh NC via airline and meeting my friend. From North Carolina we are then travelling via car to Charleston (Mount Pleasant) to stay with some relatives of mine. We want to sight see in downtown Charleston, and will have my friend's car, but I've heard that parking can be scarce in downtown Charleston. I'm wondering which mode of transportation is the most enjoyable/most affordable as far as tours of the city are concerned. My friend and I are both very interested in learning as much historically about the city as we can. We don't mind the heat, she's used to it and I love it anyway. Thanks in advance, Leah
I'm taking my girlfriend of four years to Charleston this coming weekend to get engaged. I'm thinking about spending the day in historic Charleston followed by dinner at Penninsula or another recommended spot. Then taking a private carriage down to the Battery for a sunset proposal. I'm not very familar with the area and I'd love any ideas of how to make it a special weekend/night. Where is the most romantic restaurants and potential proposal spots? Thanks for your help!
Hello all !!! I'm heading into Historic Charleston this weekend and am on a budget for food. Does anyone have any recommendations for the local eateries that aren't super expensive? Anything from low country to seafood would be great! Thanks in advance for the help! Sharon
Hi! I'm going to Charleston with my sister for a few days next week. We were suppose to meet up with a friend, but he got a job in another state, so now we are on our own. So do any of you have any suggestions to what to see and do? And does anyone know if there is a place where you might be able to hire bicycles and go for a ride? Neither of us have a car or license, so we would have to get from A to B by walking or buses. Thanks in advance :)
Plan on spending one day in July in Charleston coming from NY & heading to Orlando.....arriving on a Fri.night spending the day Sat. & leaving Sun. morning. Would we be able to do a Plantation tour as well as take in a carriage ride to tour the historic district all in one day? If so, which Plantation would you recommend? Thank you!

I'm a native Charlestonian, now retired and living in NYC and Maine. I still visit Charleston and have taken a renewed interest in the city and its history, contributing to Wikipedia, etc. In the currently available information in travel guides and on sites such as VT, I have been surprised by the amount of historical and factual misinformation out there, not to mention myths that seem to have developed (or made up) since I lived there. I don't think this is the place for discussion of these matters, but can anyone suggest an appropriate forum? I can correct mistakes in Wikipedia, but I can't change widespread public misconceptions single-handedly. I'd also like to discuss current terms for places and things that have been newly coined, such as SOBs and SNOB, but I'm probably more concerned with historical and factual matters. Thanks, Spencer (smeans2)
I am currently looking to go on vacation in Port Royal, South Carolina. I was looking to stay at Red Door Rentals, I came across their website thereddoorrentals.com, and it looked like a place i would like to stay at. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or opinions.
My wife and I are considering a visit to Myrtle Beach in June, and want to avoid having to rent a car (we are traveling with a 7 and 4 yr old). Where would the best place to stay that has best concentration of attractions? Thanks.

Looking for an "affordable" place to stay in Downtown/Historic district. Planning on staying beginning of July for 2 nights and only 1 full day to spend in Charleston. I have already read previous posts of "things to do" and found great ideas, however, can't locate a hotel within walking distance to all the sights at a price of between100-150 a night.....(cleanliness a "must" as mentioned in my other posts!) thanks!
Are there any places in downtown that have an 18 to enter and 21 to drink policy? My fraternity is having our spring formal in Charleston and we are looking for a place where we can all be together. Most of the group is 21 but there are a few who are not and we are trying to find a place where we will be together while at the same time allow those who are of age have a good time. Please let me know. Thanks
We are staying St Pete Beach in Florida in June 2012 from the UK. We have always wanted to see something of South Carolina and this may be our only time to try and do this. We have looked up the distances to drive and this would be about 500 miles (each way). We know we won't have much time to do much as we only want to stay one or two nights but think we would we would at least see what South Carolina looks like. Can anyone advise us which places would be worth seeing and what areas worth driving through for sightseeing to see the real South Carolina. Many thanks.
Can some one give me names of a few motels near Pier 14 or Yatchmans in Myrtle Beach Sc ?
driving new york to south florida on dec 23 and 24, need an overnight motel. figured santee but could drive another hour if needed. looking for a decent clean quiet motel under S70-75. Most of the online reviews in this category are pretty awful. Any suggestions?
Visiting Charleston by cruise ship in late January 2012, for one day only. Is it practical to see the historical part of town on foot? Also, would like to visit USS Yorktown - is it possible to get there by using public transportation, either bus or boat. The cruise ship does run trips but I prefer to do my own thing. Any suggestions gratefully received.
I am planning a weekend getaway to Charleston for my father and his wife as a Christmas present. They have tons of energy (tennis, running everyday), so I would like to plan a weekend with fun activities with a hotel close by. And good eats, of course! I am trying to plan this from Alabama, so any advice would be so very helpful. Thanks!
I will be visiting next summer with my family. We have a 5yr old who has to eat a gluten free diet. Is there any restaurants that offer a gluten free menus for him.
My husband and I will be visiting Charleston for the first time next week. Should we take a walking or a carriage tour or both?
What is the cheapest way to get from the airport to hotels? Is there a local bus that goes between the two? Is there a shuttle service?
I absolutely love to go shelling. I have been told that you can no longer go shelling on Edisto Beach or Shell Island. Is this true? We are planning a trip to the state park in October and would like to know! Please inform me of the best time/area to do shelling if allowed! Thanks!
