August is a very quiet time of the year in terms of festivals, probably similar to February in Europe, being end-winter for us. The West Coast flower season is already happening and little towns like Darling and Langebaan have some things around then. The flower section (Postberg) is open to the public August and September only. Market days are typically Saturday mornings for the smaller towns/villages. But, these towns go very quiet on Sundays. However, supermarkets are open Sunday mornings as well (no liquor sales). Regarding actual "festivals" that go on all day with entertainment into the night, I can't really think of anything important in August.
