      Fishing Trip in thailand

      Phuket May 18, 2013 at 7:40 PM

This is our 8th visit to Phuket but will be a first fishing trip in Phuket. My son age 10 has requested for me to bring him to one. He enjoyed his Australia's deep sea fishing last Nov. The problem is daddy (and daughter) will not been tagging along as he is prone to sea sickness unless it is a guaranteed not on rough seas. He is fine with river fishing which we went as a family prior to the deep sea fishing. Hence, it does not make sense for two of us to charter a batch or catamaran. I heard we can just go to Rawai or Ao Pa Pier to look for fisherman to take us out.
Appreciate any advice and suggestion. We will arrive on 31/5 morn and depart 03/6 night . We have booked a rental car.

      Thanks
      Jenny

Hi, has anyone been on the Phuket Food Tour (http://phuketfoodtours.com)? I can't seem to find any reviews or recommendations for this company and am concerned that it is not a reputable company.
Does anyone have any recommendations for other food tours in Phuket?
      Response will be much appreciated.
      Thanks

Stay in Phuket and things to do?

      Phuket May 14, 2013 at 2:22 AM

      Hi Guys,

I am off to Phuket for 4 days by the first week of June. I see that Patong is where the night life is, and obviously more crowded. I was thinking of staying in Patong for couple of nights and couple of nights in Karon or Kata, so I can enjoy a bit of the beachlife too.

Could you recommend some places to stay in Patong, and also some in Karon or Kata?

I would also like to know if there are any places where I could do snorkelling, parasailing, etc near Karon or Kate?

      Thanks

      P

      Climbing Ropes

      Krabi May 7, 2013 at 3:49 PM

A friend and I will be travelling throughout southeast Asia this summer. He and I are both climbers and plan on spending about a week or so climbing in the Krabi area. It would be impossible for us to go to Thialand and not climb, however he and I dont want to carry a rope around for seven weeks. Is there anywhere that will rent ropes in Krabi? I know about the guided climbing and that it is relatively cheap , but that hurts my pride a little. I would rather be independent and have the option to multipitch. Also is it common to find people climbing in Krabi with a rope looking for a belay partner?

Anyone going to be in Phuket this month?

      Phuket May 4, 2013 at 7:01 AM

I'm planning on being in Phuket at the end of this month. I was just wondering if there is anyone else who is planning a trip out there around the same time. I think it would be very interesting to party in Thailand with people from around the world.

Can anyone give me information about bus travel between hat yai and ranong? Does it have to be booked through a travel agent? If so can I have a name, address and telephone number? Or can I get tickets at the bus station? If so, where is this?

      Hope you can help.

    • Cost of Living

      Phuket May 19, 2013 at 9:45 AM

Leaving for Phuket in the near future for a great job opportunity. I am from the US and have never been there before. Salary will be a base of 70k baht/month with a 15k/month housing allowance with health insurance all covered on the international plan. I am in my twenties but I do not drink or party that much so I will not be going crazy at the bars...I am wondering if I can live comfortably on this salary. Thanks so much for your advice and input. Cannot wait to arrive.

    • First Visit to Thailand and Phuket - where should I stay?

      Phuket May 16, 2013 at 9:00 PM

I am traveling to Phuket at the end of June for 3-4 days. It will be my first time in Thailand so i'm figuring out where to stay. I've heard that Patong is the most popular beach and heavy tourist area with great night life but I'm looking for something less crowded but still accessible to the night life if we desired. I've heard that Kata or Karon are great areas to stay at as well. I am looking for a 4 or 5 star resort to stay at as well. Appreciate any tips or suggestions. It's a girls trip just to relax, shop and eat and do some site-seeing. If you guys have any site-seeting or activities to suggest that would help as well. I've heard that cooking classes can be really fun. Thanks all.

      To Thepa or not

by Mirhie Online Now Jan 28, 2013 at 5:58 AM

I am considering to retire in Thepa, however I am unable to find any information about the area, such as is it more agricultural and is it possible to find a free stand house to buy near the beach. Are there any suggestions as to where to buy, What are the logistics in the area and if I should open a conflict resolution center and English classes would there be a market for it.I would like to operate this on a non profit basis are there many other such facilities for youth of the area? How can I access more information about the District etc. Should I be considering another district closer to the Songkhla university and is there quite a large expat community etc.

by anoum Online Now May 3, 2008 at 3:25 AM

Can anyone tell me how to get to Ko Yo now? And how long is the journey? Does anyone know the cost? I shall be going to Hat Yai for 3D2N and plan to spend a day in Songkhla because I am not very keen on shopping in Hat Yai for too hours. My friends and I plan to hire a van from Butterworth and the driver will be taking us around during the whole visit. But he may not know Ko Yo since I haven't heard of it either until today at VT.

Hello to you all in Songkhla, i have spent the best times of my life in your little town. I just wonder how everyone is getting along with all the recent problems in the South. I used to go out to Simila beach for lunch on the beach every day. Are all the bars ( on the DARK side ) still there, is Bernie still around. What about the Lipstick and cheeky, Skillet, offshore bars, one of the best was opposite the Royal Crown hotel, i cannot remember its name. Would love to know whats happening there.
