we are arriving into haugesund airport and would like to know the easiest or prettiest way to reach balestrand from there!?!!? also - do you think we need a car once we get to the area? thanks!
Haugesund is far from Balestrand. Bergen airport is much closer and there is a local airport even closer. But if that is your rout, then you first need to travel to Bergen ether by boat or bus. From Bergen you also have the choice of boat or bus to Balestrand. If you hire a car, then E39 will take you almost the whole way.

here is a link with the map and distance gulesider.no/kart/map.c?mapI... its ca 320 km and less than 6 hours drive, haveing a car makes it easier to get around , my guess you are comeing in on a ryan air flight and are going back on one. there is either the coastal bus (kystbussen) to bergen or the fast ferry from haugesund habour to bergen habour, the bus is cheaper and goes more often than the boat and includes a feryy rossing hope you have a great time in norway :-)
