Due to a strike in Vadso airport.
I must go to Kirkenes on the 17th May arrival at 22.43 PM.
What will be the cost of a taxi to Vadso ?
Or is there an other solution possible for the same evening ?
Thanks, Kris
Is there a bus or train that would take you from Kirkenes (after departing the ship) to Helsinki?
Hi everybody! I'm trying to find out what my options for transportation methods between Alesund to Geiranger and back.
I know there's several bus options and cruise options but I'm confused because I'm not sure if they will be operating when we plan on coming, which most likely look like it will be May 13th until May 16th (we will be flying in and out of Aalesund Vigra airport)
Is there anything transportation wise that would work with this schedule? I was hoping to spend the first two nights (the 13th& 14th) out in Hellesylt or Geiranger and the last (the 15th) and in Alesund.
Any information would be of much help, thanks! I can't find anything. I know fjord1.no supposedly has information but I can't figure out the website. I've also checked out Lonely Planet's guides but it doesn't really provide any useful information.
How to take bus from Honningsvag to Alta?
Traveling by car around Norway. All of the trip is planned with the exception of 2 days to get from Kristiansund to Oslo, possibly via Roros (my preference). maps.google notes it is about a 10 hour trip without deviations, thus my 2 days.
- What would be recommended routes to take?
- And the recommended route if we go via Roros?
- And I'd like to also go via the Peer Gynt road that starts in Vinstra and goes south to Lillehammer. Is this a paved or a dirt road? 60 km of dirt road does not sound like fun.
thanks
Hi everyone. I'm trying to plan a trip to nordkapp for this summer, with public transports. So these are my questions:
1. does the bus Nordkappekspressen (between Narvik and Alta, then to Honningsvag) still exist? because I cannot find any info on the internet.
2. if it doesn't run anymore, what are my concrete options to reach Alta (excluding flights, if possible)?
Hi! I shall be traveling to Norway in July and I am interested in the famous Pulpit Rock trek. My question is, how steep is it to get up to the top? Are there many dangerous turns and climbs?
Can one take a short trip from Alesund to see the sights? My wife and I are on a cruise docking in Alesund on 09/09/2013 from 07:00--17:00. Is it possible to fit anything in during this limited time?
Thanx,
Dennis
Hello,
I would like to take the ferry between Tronfheim and Alesund this summer 2013 but I'm hesitating to take rather a bus because it takes less time.
But at the same time I think it can be interestig to do a trip in ferry along the fjords.
So here is my question:
Is the trip in ferry between Trondheim and Alesund beautiful? Is it worth to take so much time in ferry or is it better to go in Alesund with a bus?.
Thank you for your answers.
First time in Norway this summer; traveling by car. We will make reservations for 2 ferries:
- In Flåm we will park our car and take the ferry from Flåm to Gudvangen and the bus back to Flåm.
- Car ferry from Geiranger to Valldal.
But there are lots of other places where we will need to take a car ferry to cross a fjord.
How does it work for these other small ferry trips? Just show up and wait in line? Are such small crossings quite frequent and don't involve a lot of waiting?
thanks
We are planning to visit Flam and around this Aug., but I could'nt find any car rental information for Flam, Have I to rent cars from Voss and drive to Flam? Is there any possibility to pick and drop two cars at Flam?

Hello,
we (mother and son, 51 and 15) plan a kayak tour in naeröfjorden, auerlandfjorden, sognefjorden and lustrafjorden from gudvangen or flam to Solvorn and back on May 20 to 30 this year. We have a wooden Kayak and a Klepper folding Kayak. We ask for your advice:
-do we need helmets in the fjord because of falling rocks?
-is there a tide?
-is wind a problem for kayaking esp. in the sognefjord ? and, mainly,
-is it possible to go ashore & find place for a small tent at
1.salthella in the naerofjord
2.stokkahamaren or stokko in the aurlandsfjord (near
Beitelen )
3.Simleness in the aurlandsfjord
4.Fronningen in the sognefjord or tingastad (north shore
sognefjord)
5. Fodness in the sognefjord, at the ligthhouse, or
Aspvikane or °Aretun
6. Kinsedalen
7. Urnes
We have 1:50 000 maps of the region and dry suits and of course life suits etc.
We are thankfully looking forward to your advice,
gratefully
Susanne Gandenberger and Tobias Bachem
