hi - my daughters team will be traveling to Europe this summer and will be staying at the Fitland Sittard sports centre. The girls will be staying in one facility while the parents that are traveling will be staying at the on-site hotel. Any recommendations of things to do in Sittard and surrounding areas will be welcome. We will be there approximately 9 days. Thank you.
The nearby cities of Aachen (Aken in Dutch), Maastricht and Liege(Luik)are all very worth visiting, and keep in mind that The Netherlands really is so small that there's no reason you couldn't visit Amsterdam and Utrecht or any other interesting cities in your 9 days.

You will also be near to Tongeren which is the oldest town in Belgium and we have some very interesting sites to see and many, many wonderfull cafes to sit at..give me a shout if you want to come this way and we will try to sort something out...K.

Just remebered you will be very near to Vaals in Nederland which is where the three lands of Nederland and Germany and Belgium meet...you can climb to the highest point and even go up one or two viewing towers and see for miles into each land...there are good walking routes and a couple of nice restaurants and a pub at the top!!!
