last week of september 2010

Hello, we're going with 10 girls to Sitges the last week of September. Are the bars and clubs still open (because September is not in 'season' anymore)? And is nightlife fun for girls? Because I read it's a 'gay-city'and there are many gay-clubs/bars. But are there also 'normal' clubs/bars that are open the last week of september 2010?

I will not say Sitges is a "gay-city". It's a real town where all kinds of people and families do live all year round. It happens to have a beautiful old town and good beaches, and a tradition of not bothering about other's private lives and sexual preferences, so it became a "gay-friendly" destination many years ago. So, the "normal bars" there tend to be open to everybody, you will find both gay and hetero people everywhere and this is the beauty of Sitges. There are some gay bars and special gay nights in others, but you will find info about these once there, look for the flyers at the fashion shops and bars to know what's on. Last week of September will be not as crowded as in the peak of summer, but still quite lively especially if the weather is still good. It may be quieter on weekdays, but you can always head to Barcelona. Have fun!

Hi, bars and clubs will still be open but a little quieter than in the height of the season. Sitges is not a gay only resort, fortunately, and there are plenty of venues that are suitable for us straight folk. The train ride into Barcelona takes about half an hour and travels along the coast for part of the way so some time spent there is a must. Enjoy.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. The bars are still open on September. The nightlife is very fun for everybody. There are gays but is not a place only for gays, everybody is very welcome. And there are also bars that are not specifically for gay people, I understand that you mean that when you say "normal". And congratulations! Because you're going to have a big surprise during your trip: the last week of September Sitges celebrate his "Festa Petita", that means fireworks and a lot of parties and traditional celebrations.
