Looking for some best ways to enjoy a family vacation in st maarten
We'll be travelling to St Martin in the near future with family members including a 4 month old grand daughter. Her parents are hoping to not have to tote a week's supply of disposable diapers/nappies with them. Are these easily obtained in the supermarkets on the island?
hello there, im travelling to st barths and transitting by st martin. im wondering how to get to the ferry port from SXM st martin airport and how far would it take to get there. thank you
On my recent visit to Sint Maarten, I had a drink at one of the outdoor cafes. I admired the beautiful glass in which it was served: a clear glass with a pink design. I was told that it might be available at a Marigot market. We could not find it. Can anyone help with information about a source for purchasing these drinking glasses? One of them had a small pink strawberry in the design, another had some French script. Thank you.
Me and my wife are looking for a hotel on the south/Dutch side of St. marten for March. My family owns a time share there (RCI/divi/little bay). Our weeks are in August so that is almost impossible. I saw a couple of deals on livingsocial and groupon(is it ok to mention that here?). The places in question are the Sonesta great bay beach and sonesta maho. One of those is RIGHT next to the airport. We were wondering if it is too loud. Also if anyone has any better suggestions, I am open for anything. Thanks in advance.
I'm looking to visit St. Maarten next month and I'm on a budget. I would like to avoid renting a car and I hear the buses are not very good. Are the roads safe for bike riding? I figured I could just ride around the island but I'm not sure if the traffic is dangerous.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a 2 week itinerary for these 3 islands? Can any of the 3 be skipped? Best food, snorkeling? Affordable accomodations?
I am hoping to visit Sint Maarten some time in the near future. I would like to rent out a villa and I would like to know the best neighborhoods on both sides of the island. I'm talking safety, not worried about shopping or nightlife, I csn drive to that.
Hi, It seems that there a number of music clubs in St. Maarten but is there any that have live Jazz, Blues or Soul bands ?
We will traveling this summer to St Maarten would like to rent a car from the best company, great resturants and best beaches to snorkel at? We will only be there 8 hours

Hi all! My wife and I will need to get from St. Bart's to St. Maarten on Sunday, April 3 to catch a 4:20pm flight back to the states. What's the best/most cost effective way to travel between the islands that would allow us to make our flight? Thanks!

Planning an R&R vacation but not interested in the beach. We would like to be within walking distance of restaurants and perhaps a movie theatre...any suggestions? Merci!
Any suggestions for restaurants that accept dollars one for one for euros?
I understand there are 3 hotel facilities that use the Westin Dawn Beach address. Can someone give me advice as to which has the better rooms and locations? Does one have better access to the French side and are the facilities and rooms as nice as the others?
Hello! Checking to see whether anyone has stayed at Holland House on Sint Maarten? I am looking for potential places to stay prior to getting on a dive boat next May 2011. Thanks!
We are 4 adults using a timeshare, so we are limited to our choices of resort as well as the dates. Here is what I've narrowed it down to, based on our only options thru RCI: * The Towers at Mullet Bay * Pelican Resort Club * The Ocean Club Villas We are hoping for a good, centralized location, 5-10 minutes from some bars & restaurants, nice beach access, and someplace that will NOT be filled with a bunch of screaming kids. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
Hi all, I am planning a trip to St. Martin in late January or mid February. However I would like to be in St. Martin when it’s at peak season. So I would like know which week would be the busiest time. Thanks in advance Ash
My wife and I are making our first trip to the island. We have never been to a clothing optional beach and would like to find a quite peaceful beach that we can visit. My wife would prefer that the beach is not crowded. I heard there are a few beaches on Sint Maarten that are not easily accessible. Are these beaches safe to visit. Is there a need to worry about traveling the paths to these beaches? What is the best way to access these beaches?
I know that this is the closest airport to the beach in the world, so it would be a shame to spend a 4 hour layover inside the terminal instead of at the beach. Unfortunately, I will have a suitcase with me, so it may not be so easy to go to the beach. Does anyone know if the airport has lockers or some sort of storage area? Will I have time/be able to go to the beach during my 4 hour layover? Thanks in advance!
Ill be staying there in the little bay area. How far are the fun things to do, nightlife, casino, etc? Can anyone recommend places to eat around that area? I had also thought about car rental, good idea or just use taxis? Ill be there for a week, so plenty of time to get around. Thanks for any help.
Hi, I am traveling to St M. next week. Wondering if anyone knows of a place where a small boat could be rented. Row boat size with a motor, just for taking little trips...
Hi, I am cruising with my husband, brother, sister-in-law and grown nieces at the end of May. I want to plan a great beach day for them as they have never been to the Caribbean. I am looking for a quiet, uncrowded beach (isn't evyerbody!) but one that has facilities, as we will need umbrellas and a bathroom. I was leaning toward Friars Bay. Is that a good choice? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You stated that the rooms looked dated. Are the rooms clean, do they all have balconies? I am in a Studio. Is there a better or safer part of the resort to stay? I understand that one area of guest quarters is fenced in and is safer than the guest quarters outside of the fenced area, and that there is a steep hill to walk if you can not get parking and/or guest quarters inside of the fenced area (may not be to safe at night). What light can you shine on that for me? Also, do you know the directions to Orient Beach, no locals seem to be able to direct me there before. I stayed at the Pelican one year, it was very nice. Also, I stayed at Cupecoy which was very nice, but did not have a nice beach. I am traveling next week, your info would be very helpful. The person that I received the info on about Famingo Beach Resort was not absoulutely sure, it was from a third party.
We are stopping in Sint Maarten on a cruise ship stop on November 24,2009. We are looking for a great local guide to take a party of 10 around the island. Can anyone refer someone great ! Thanks.
Which is the beach where the planes approach is right over the beach. We will be arriving by ship, how far is it from the port.
What is the weather at night in Sint Maarten in August? I mean... I can read all the weather web sites with all the digits and stuff but really... DO YOU NEED a long sleeve shirt for late night lounging at the open air restaurant? Is it hot all night long or do you get a colder winds after the sunset? Are the mosquitos present at the sunset/night? Thanks
Hi, We will be overnighting in St Maarten en route to St Barts. Looking for a suggestion for a decent, reasonably priced hotel or motel in proximity to the airport. Thanks Bob RJG@TIAC.NET
