      Batam/Bintan Visit

by dejavu2gb Online Now Aug 11, 2015 at 2:50 AM

      Hi All

I will be in Singapore at the back end of a tour around Asia, and I was wanting to ask for some info.
I wanted to stay in Singapore for a night, and then head over to Batam/Bintan for a night and I was wondering if it was worth the visit.
Also as accommodation in Singapore is exorbitant, it's friendlier on the pocket :)

Or alternatively, would a daytrip from Singapore be better if there is not much to see/do whilst there?

      Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi, my mum & I will be visiting Singapore for the first time in a couple of weeks. We get in at 9.45pm and leave the next day at 7.30pm.
      Just wondering:
      a) approx how much money we will need (just basics like food etc - we aren't fine diners)
      b) is it worth me buying tickets for the hop on hop off bus from home?
      c) the two most worthy places to visit

by manojgeorgethomas Online Now Jun 27, 2015 at 4:47 AM

I am travelling with family in a couple of weeks from India to Malaysia ( transit) and Singapore and had a few questions:
      1) I read on the Singapore customs website that duty free alcohol is allowed upto 1 litre but does not apply if you coming from Malaysia .. Does this apply even to folks who are using Malaysia purely as a transit point
      2) Is gold cheaper in malaysia than India ? Whats the duty free limit in India on gold ?
      3) I plan to carry around 10K of INR converted into SGD or USD hence whats the max INR i can carry out of the country ?

    • Good Value Hotel Accommodation

by EuroDeb Online Now Apr 6, 2015 at 5:54 AM

My husband and I will be staying in Singapore for 4 nights in September 2015. We are looking for recommendations for good value hotels costing around A$150 a night (give or take). As we are out and about most of the time, we are looking for a clean, comfortable, reasonable sized hotel room with free wifi and possibly a swimmig pool - we don't need a gym etc. As far as location, we are looking for something close to a MRT stop, with restaurants etc nearby. Any suggestions would be welcome.

by MunishK Online Now Mar 9, 2015 at 7:12 AM

We(2 Adults, 2 Kids) will be reaching around 5pm at Queen Street, Singapore, therefore planning to stay near Little India. What is the best low budget place to sleep there? After Checking in we'd like to directly go to Flyer and take a ride in it, watch the Marina light and water show and take dinner at Clark Quake. Next day morning we are planning to go Sentosa and spend time there on Fun Day Pass till evening 6pm. Then we have to take Bus to KLIA2 from Golden Complex at 7:00pm. Is it okay as planned or you suggest some thing else. Please suggest the best way to enjoy it with Kids. Its our first visit there.

Hello. We are going to Singapore for 3 days and then we'll fly to some other places near by. He always takes with him 2 or 3 packets of cigarettes from a portuguese brand not known in Singapore, I believe. Will he be allowed with those? And by the way, is it a dangerous town as it concerns to robberies? TY for replying.
