Whilst you are waiting for VT-ers to reply you might browse through the Vt Singapore pages: Singapore Travel Guide You will find loads of information and hundreds of ideas about what to see/do and where to go. The 'must-sees' will, of course, be those with the most reviews. All pages, reviews and photos are created by VT locals and members.

Anderson Bridge, Plaque on the bridge is of stone specially brought out from Egypt. This bridge is named after Sir John Anderson, Governor of the Straits Settlements. It was built in 1909 jointly by the government of the Straits Settlements and the Municipal Commissioners of the Town of Singapore. The President of the Municipal Comm ... Clarke Quay- originally the trading dock for Singapore- now popular because of its retuarants, night life and Bum-Boat cruises. Raffles Hotel- Singapore's iconic hotel- it has an amazing history. During WW2 when Japanese occupied Singapore, they made it their headquarters. It has been home to royalty, literary giants and movie stars. The Singapore Sling cocktail was invented here. There is a small museum inside Raffles. The Botanical Gardens are a must visit- especially the Orchid House Changi Prison Museum (on MRT line) Chinatown is filled with temples, and Little India is colourful, has great markets and food stalls. If you have time, take a cruise around the islands on Chiese vessel Admiral Cheng Ho. The cruise lasts 3 hours, and tea, coffee and snacks are served. You will stop off at Kusu Island- home of the Sacred Turtles. Its a very relaxing cruise, and gives a spectacular view of Singapore skyline. Buy tickets at Visitors Centre in Orchard Road. The there is Sentosa Island- which USED to be nice- but is now just one huge amusement area- and everything costs a bundle. Not my favourite place. There is also a hop on/hop off bus which goes around in a loop, stopping off at various places of interest. Expect one every 30mins. Tickets can also be bought at Visitors Centre (from memory I thin they cost S$6.00 pp and last all day

Agree with what Lynn said. Also you might like the Zoo Night Safari, also the Bird Park which we love. The Sands Hotel and Casino, you can pay to go up to the top.

Most of the attractions can be seen and enjoyed in a day or two.

You can also walk around Boat Quay, visit the Asian Civilizations Museum, then onto the Fullerton Hotel and the Merlion. Go to the Esplanade. It's pretty. I liked the Singapore Flyer, though some would argue that the Marina Bay Sands viewing deck is better. I didn't have a good time in the view deck, however. There are also walking tours of Singapore: journeys.com.sg/singaporewal... Never tried these, but I bet they are fun. Or you can do these yourself! Hope this helps. Enjoy!

I have visited Singapore on quite a few occasions, usually passing by from Indonesia to Malaysia. I never stay more than one night as i am a nature lover and Singapore seems to be one big shopping mall, but if i had to choose 5 places to visit this would be my choice:- 1) Little India as i am a food lover, and there is a wonderful choice of Indian Restaurants in the neighbourhood. 2) Bugis street to wander around the market stalls. 3) Sultan Mosque 4) Indian Temple such as Sri Veeramakaliamman or Sri Srinavasa Perumal. 5) Marina Bay Sands just to see this amazing building. Yes there are gardens, parks, zoos and aviaries nut this is not real nature, is it?

If you are interested in historical sites then visit the various WW2 sites, including Battle Box, Changi Museum, Bukit Chandu, etc. Also take a bumboat to Palau Ubin and rent a bicycle to go around the island and enjoy the peace and natural areas. MacRitchie Reservoir is also nice for a walk. The Peranakan Museum has an excellent collection covering the historical and cultural aspects of this ethnic group. Night Safari is fun but skip the tram and walk around instead. Definitely agree that Sentosa Island is to be missed because of the crowds and overdevelopment.

Hi! I just got back from Singapore and here are some of the places i went to. Gardens by the Bay, Universal Studio, Marina Bay Sands, Little India, and Clarke Quay are few places you can consider. If you are also thinking of accomodation, I would recommend serviced apartments. It is different from hotels because it gives you the feeling of home away from home. I previously stayed in Fraser Place Robertson Walk. Very comfy and near to Clarke Quay - Singapore's most popular nightlife area.

Hello, There are actually more than 5 must-see attractions in Singapore. But anyway, just to name some: * Universal Studios * Singapore Zoo * Botanical Gardens * Marina Bay Sands * Sentosa (Images of Singapore) * Jurong Bird Park And since you also want to see historical places, perhaps you might to consider: * Chinatown * Little India * The Merlion * National Museum Usually, when you inquire with a travel agency, they have a list of tours that you can get to actually visit the top attractions. You'll also be given an option if you want an extra tour to take like the Night Safari. And if you're also interested to experience the Wildlife Adventures of Singapore, I saw a package for park hoppers at a great price. Just see if you'll be interested - wrs.com.sg/2012tourist/stati... Enjoy!
