Hotel in Chinatown

by ozpaul Online Now May 19, 2012 at 2:04 PM

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a good hotel - 4/5 * near/close to Chinatown. One thing - I would like the hotel to have a pool. I have looked on a few sites and there doesn't seem to be very many that fits the bill. We would really like to be close to the MRT and the general Chinatown area. Thanks.

The nearest hotels with swimming pool are Furama Hotel, Swissotel Merchant court. Chinatown is an old dwelling and commerce place in Singapore and has been perserved in its historical settings. Hotels with swimming pool in Chinatown is very rare.

HI We have stayed at Furama, which is in Chinatown. Very enjoyable and yes, there is a pool. There are 2 Furamas in Singapore- do not book the Furama Riverfront. The original Furama is the one in Chinatown. You should have a look at WOTIF website. Just Google WOTIF Singapore. Good savings, and Furama may have a good deal.

Here is the website for Furama (Chinatown) on WOTIF. You just have to adjust your dates wotif.com/hotels/furama-city...

Hotel Amara (4*) at about 10-minute walk from Chinatown, has a pool and it is right next to an MRT station (Tanjon Pagar). Giuseppe

Mark I see that you are brand new member on VT. This is how VT works: There is a perfectly honest and reliable way of finding hotels right here on Virtual Tourist. Members make reviews of hotels that they have stayed in, and they are hotels all over the world. If you look on the blue strip at the top of the page, you will see a HOTELS LINK. Just have to click on that. Tripadvisor is the best hotel review site. No need for Googling, unless you want additional information.
