Places to see for my 11 month old son

by madhavii Online Now May 1, 2012 at 4:48 PM

We will have our 4 days trip in late of July with my mother and 11 month old son. Where are the good places for him to see and enjoy our trip? As much as possible, I would like him to enjoy this trip because this is his birthday gift - c",). Where could we stay that will be close to MRT and close to vegetarian restaurants but safe to stay with a kid (I have read here in VT forum that red light area is not a good place with child/children)? We are looking for a budget hotel. Thank you so much for all your advices and I really appreciate it. c",)

"Hotel 81" is a good budget chain that i have stayed in several times in Singapore. And i think a trip on Singapore river with the bumboats would be good with a kid that age.

Hi - some suggestions: Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, Sentosa Beach. He might be too small for the Dolphin show.

Agree about a Bum Boat experience. Another of our favourite things to do in Singapore is a Lunch or Tea Cruise on the Chinese Vessel 'Admiral Cheng-Ho' The cruise stops at an island called "Kusu Island' which is really interesting. It has a turtle population and breeding program, monkeys and pretty picnic area. The cruise itself is relaxing, and one is able to observe the ever-changing Singapore skyline from a different perspective. The Lunch cruise is best, and lasts about 2.5 hours. Leaves from the Marina. Tickets can be bought from Singapore Visitor Centre in Orchard Road. Butterfly Park is lovely for kids. Finding any accommodation close to MRT will not be difficult- MRT runs just about everywhere. Also- a walk through the Botanical Gardens is lovely- free, and good place to picnic. Watch swans on the lake. Visit the Orchid House. Let you son have a run or crawl on the very clean lawns. One absolute MUST_- Always carry plenty of bottled water. Singapore is very hot, very humid, and dehydration is a real danger. So drink as much fluid as you can. Wear sunhats. Vegetarian Restuarants you will find plenty of in Little India area (also not a bad place to stay)
