Convenient location

by JanuszBudd Online Now Apr 5, 2012 at 9:43 PM

I am staying in Singapore for three nights (two days). I would like to choose a hotel in an area that is interesting on its own without necessity to travel be train or a taxi. Sort of, out of the door and you are there. Shopping is not on my priority list, I would prefer more of an esthetic type experience combined with historical sites and perhaps good food. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Cheers JanuszBudd

Try to find a place in Esplanade area or Clarke Quay. You can walk around there for some attractions around Singapore river and even visit some museums. You can check my Singapore page for some useful tips. Enjoy it :)

I can recommend the Furama Riverfront Hotel, which is in Havelock Street. near Boat Quay. Singapore Hotel Tips by lynnehamman We found this hotel on WOTIF website, and it was excellent in every way, with a really affordable price. All information in in the review.

I stayed at Geylang in 2010, in one of the Fragrance chain, (low priced and adequate for my needs), and commuted, so to speak, by train; however, there were a couple of those hotels nearer the centre, one of which is at Bugis.

Most convenient hotels for your choice would be in the Collier Quay area but these can be pretty expensive as they are situated in the heart of the business district and tourist area. Travel by train is easy and convenient and doesn't cost much. You might want to consider a little further.

Hi there If budget is not an issue, I totally recommend The Fullerton hands down. If you have a budget between100 -250, try V-Hotel Lavender. Cheers!
