Left luggage facility at Changi airport

by Anjan123 Online Now Mar 5, 2012 at 4:28 AM

Hi, I am arriving early morning 630 am at Singapore and my hotel checkin is only after 1 pm that day. I have a 11am personal meeting at Beach Road. 1. Can I leave my luggage at the airport and collect later in evening , if yes how and what charges. 2. How to go to Beach road by public transport (except taxi). If taxi, then how much it should cost. Many thanks, Anjan

Most hotels in Singapore also have a left luggage facility, which will be free. I suggest that you go straight there, leave your luggage, and then go to your meeting. We have often been in this situation, and sometimes (if the hotel is not fully booked) they may even allocate a room for you to shower and freshen up- until your appointed room is vacated. Its certainly worth a try.

I agree with Lynne, go to the hotel. If you're lucky they may even have your room serviced and ready for you, if not you can leave your luggage with them until you check-in later. From memory I think a taxi would cost you about S$20.

Thanks Guys.....These are really helpful...Also I checked that there are paid shower facilities at Changi, so plan to take a shower, change into fresh clothes and maybe then leave the luggage at Changi itself and go for the meeting and collect it later...but this kind of helps me utilising my time better. Many thanks and hopefully I can reciprocate. Regards, Anjan

I'm not sure where the shower facilities are. But I did see one in Terminal 3 Departure. You may have the shower as said and it won't take more than an hour and by the time you get out of the airport it would be say 8 am. Go to the MRT station to take a train to the city (but you have to change train at Tanah Merah Interchange (just listen to the announcement when the train approaches Tanah Merah Interchange, it would be the 3rd stop), just get out of the train and board the next train on the other side of the platform bound for Boon Lay or Jurong East and if your hotel is in the city you get off at City Hall. As lynnehamman had said, leave your luggage at the hotel as long as you have the reservation. By the time you do this it would only be 9.30 am. You can go for your meeting at 11 am with plenty of time in between. I think taxi would costs you more than20 as there are certain gantry fees (tolls) you need to pay if you are going into the city. I hope this helps.

If i were you, i would go to the hotel with luggage already. you can take the train from the airport to your hotel, since the train system in singapore is quite extensive. leave luggage with concierge, unless they allow you to get your room earlier (when it is already vacated), then take the train to your meeting. getting a train card loaded with credit will go a long way in saving you time lining up for your train cards
