Hello. Any suggestion. Hi.there we can empathise with you as we are also going to Singapore and Malaysia and have encountered similar problems in securing accommodation for a family room, with separate beds for the children. Although we haven't been yet, we have booked into a hostel for our first night. We found what appears to be good, clean and safe accommodation(4bunk beds) in the 5foot way inn, in Chinatown. Although breakfast is included I think we have to share bathroom, shower etc. this cot us aroundS$100. We have still to book accommodation for our last night before we fly home. If you find anything decent please let us know. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

No personal experience as I am local (though I stay in hostels while traveling) but Wink Hostel, Rucksack Inn, Beary Good Hostel, are some good ones. 5footway inn too..
