What to do in three days?

by tpk2 Online Now Feb 2, 2008 at 11:52 PM

Hi I'm going to stay in Singapore for three full days with my wife later this month. Any suggestions what to do? What are the must-see things in Singapore? Thanks in advance, TPK

Raffles Hotel is a must, visit the long bar with the famous peanut tapping. A cable car ride to Sentosa Island. Singapore Zoo is just fantastic, include the nocturnal tour if you can. The Singapore river has lots of fabulous eating places,Clarke Quay is one of them. Little China and little India are worth a visit and of course the huge shopping complexes along Orchid parade and other streets are a must. Singapore is a modern and old city so have fun exploring it.

My personal favorite is the Night Safari (http://www.nightsafari.com.sg). Have a look at my list of interesting attractions for some ideas at: "My List of Interesting Attractions In Singapore" - Singapore Travelogue by DarkRay Just my 2 cents.... :-)

Really depends on what you're here for. The shopping here great, should check out Orchard road and raffles city for that. The zoo is nice but the night safari is a more unique experience. (It's at the same place, just different time of the day) Sentosa is an okay place to go to but if you're going there for the beach and water, there's places around south east asia with better beaches and waters. You can check out some historical sites, but Singapore doesn't really have a very long history. And if you're going for the night life, clarke quay is great, laods of bars and pubs in that area. Clubs are around club street or mohamad sultan road. You should try the local food which you can really try all over singapore. There's really too many good food places to list down here.

I'd say Orchard Road, the Chinese Gardens, the zoo, hawker centres for food, Little India, Chinatown, Clark Quay, Bugis Street...and just hop on the MRT to one of the local areas off the tourist circuit - like Toa Payoh for example.

On my list of Singapore favorites you'll find: Walking in the Botanical Gardens shopping in Holland Village (interesting, reasonably priced shops) and having a Dim Sum lunch at Da Dong Restaurant in China Town.

I enjoyed the Night Safari, Chinatown, Sentosa Island & the bum-boat ride around the quays (from Clarke Quay). Oh and you've got to have a Singapore Sling.
