I am arrive to Changi airport midnight Friday, I am trying to decide if I should stay in Singapore that night or try to cross the border to JB at that time. I assume I will need to take a taxi from Changi airport to Queens St and another taxi to JB and then another taxi to a hotel in JB. Is is too late to do this or go to JB on Saturday morning instead? Just wanted to get some ideas from you all locals. With the jet lag, I would be up anyway so I thought I will start my journey early to JB but it can wait if it is not easy to catch a taxi or unsafe. If I don't go to JB that night, probably check in a hotel in Singapore and get some cold ones till day light. Thanks for your replies
check Hotel 81 chain of budget hotels...its sooo economical inside a 4 star looking room...i suggest get a room from their Chinatown brach...just along Newbridge road and across MRT Chinatown station...its convenient to venture out for a slice of china in singapore...chech also food stalls on the rickshaw..youll get a full meal for as low as 3sing$...eit is uniquely singapore!!!!:) enjoy your stay...

HI! Yes, you'll have to make your way to Ban San Street (aka "Queen Street") to catch a JB taxi. You may wish to spend a night at the New 7th Storey Hotel (http://www.nsshotel.com) as it is close to the terminal and you can walk there in the morning should you choose not to make the night journey. The hotel has dorm rooms should you not wish to have a private room.

Thanks for your quick replies. I have gotten a hotel reserved already (on orchard rd) in Singapore already if I decide to stay in Singapore on Friday, just trying to decide whether to go to JB Friday eve or Sat am. Btw, how much is the taxi cab cost from Changi airport to a hotel in JB. I assume midnight will cost more than day time. There is a poster on this forum tht will charge me RM 240 at that time, I might choose this route if I go on Fri midnight, safer and convenient. I assume that price is fair. Any comment Thanks again for your replies.

HI! With the midnight charge, it should cost you about S$20+ to get into the city from the airport and from what I have gathered, maybe another S$40+ to get into JB after grabbing a M'sian taxi. You can't catch a M'sian taxi from the airport and very rarely will a Singaporean taxi bring you across as the taxi driver will need his passport too.

Hi! If you still wanted to go to JB the same day you arrive in S'pore which is Friday (midnight) you have to do as what you have stated : Take a cab to Queen St. & then another cab to JB. I assume there are taxi to take you to JB from Queen St. even it's late. The Taxi normally will stop at Kota Raya & from there you have to take another taxi to your hotel (Maybe you should negotiate with the taxi driver that drive you from S'pore to sent you straight to your hotel in JB) If you decided to go to JB the next day, you’ll have to make your move early in the morning cause usually there will be heavy traffic jam to JB on Saturday! You can also check out our JB page if you like to get some info. What ever you decided to do…We wish you a pleasant journey!
