    Hello,

Marina Bay is surrounding by hotel like Sands popular with its casino and shopping centre then the swimming pool at the top roof and cafe at the Sky park where we can spend the nice panoramic view for sun set, also the laser light show in the evening 8 pm. There is a street vendors nearby called Makan sutera hawker marina bay.

The hotel, by itself, isn't much to see as a tourist attraction. However, you can go to the top Skybridge n have a panoramic view of Singapore city view. There is, also, the Marina Bay Sands resort, which, the hotel is part of it, that may be worth the visit.

Next to the hotel, is also the Gardens ByThe Bay. There are many other interesting spots around the vicinity of that hotel.

The hotel is linked to a convention center, a shopping mall with lots of restaurants and cafes. There is a theater there too where you can watch musicals. At the top of the hotel, you will get a nice view but you will have to pay if you are not a hotel guest.

If you walk across the helix bridge, and walk further up, you will come to the Esplanade where there are even more choices of performances to watch.

We just came here to visit the Sky Park which was definitely worth the visit. It would be even better now that the surrounding area is finished.
You can see photo's of the view here

The Sky Park is nice to go for a beautiful view over the city. If you go then be there around 10am, 2pm or 9pm. Then you can get a free guided tour to the area with swimming pool, trees and bar, that usually only is accessible for guests of the hotel. Other times of the day you're only allowed to walk around at a small place on the north side.

If you only have to sleep in the hotel than I think it is too expensive but if you have time and money than you must stay in this hotel as it has the best pool on the roof with a fantastic view of the city, a good casino, skybridge and park, lots of shopping in the hotel plus lots of attractions nearby.

the Sky Park will cost $20. Its nice especially in the evening. But if go for meals at restaurants at the top, the entrance fee is inclusive. There is a Chocolate Bar at $36++ pp. If u like chocolate u may want to give it a try. There is a free light show, the place to see is outside the area somewhere near Gulttons Bay, the outdoor-ish hawker place at Marina Bay. Its twice a day at night.. can't recall the exact timing but I think its ard 8:30 n 9:30.. u can ggogle it...

The hotel is expensive. If you search for 'deals' and 'Singapore' in Google, you'll find some websites that sometimes offer discount. They frequently also have offers for other attractions like Sentosa and restaurants.

You can visit the ArtScience Museum which is located along the Marina Bayfront. Be sure to take a short walk to the neighbouring Gardens by the Bay and visit the 2 "domes" which are quite amazing structures on their own, but also house a wide variety of flowers.

Thank you very much. Do you know of a place in Singapore where we can eat very good crab? It doesn't have to be in the hotel. I would like to go to a restaurant for both, locals and tourists.

    Thanks again. Alfredo

You can try Long Beach Seafood. It is found at 25 Dempsey Rd, about a 5 to 10 minute taxi ride from Orchard Road. They serve chilli crab but you should also try their egg yolk crab for something different. Yummy!

Thank you everybody. Your help is very much appreciated.
As English is not my native language, there are some things I don´t understand. When they speak of food, they often recommend "hawker centers" ¿What is a hawker center, and what kind of food can you eat there? ¿do they serve chilli crab?

Another thing, I am thinking of visiting Little India, China Town, Arab Street, Orchard Road, do some shopping, go to Esplanade, see the sights from Marina Bay, see the Merlion and eat chilli crab. Is this a good itinerary? Am I missing something important?

What do you all think of the Duckboat? I read it is a combination of 60 minutes sightseeing both amphibian and terrestrial.

    Thanks again for the info.

a hawker centre is a non-airconditioned food court.. whereas food courts u mostly find them in malls, hawker centres can be by itself or at some shopping centres or housing blocks. The food are varied and very affordable. Except for sea-food which can be quite expensive. If u would like to have chilli crabs I think it is better not to have them at hawker centres but at one of the specialised sea-food restaurants as they are tastier. Regardless chilli crabs go by weight and can be quite pricey. Popular hawker centres in town are Lau Pa Sat, Maxwell Road hawker centre, Gluttons Bay (but this one only opens in the evening). U can also find them at Chinatown, Bugis, etc. Eating at hawker centres can be an experience though if u go during weekday lunch time in town u will find hard to find space to eat, so bring along a pack of tissue papers.. lol..

Your itinerary looks good. It looks like u will be here for only a few days. For more places to go u can check out

The ducktour is an amphibian vehicle that will go into Singapore River. If u have children with u they will enjoy it.

    Hi Alfredo,

what is in your mind to visit the colourful culture in Singapore ; China town, little india, bugis village and arab street then orchard road is exactly as what I done. I love it so much caused in this city we can see the different colour of the architecture, the food and people really awesome for me.
Last time I start my trip from China town, we spent lunch at Maxwel ( the food court in China Town cross the Chinese temple and near by the Methodist church ) then we went to have a sight seeing around the china town richest with its chinese architecture like I back to 1970 in my hometown . We moved to clarcquay then walking along the river, saw the beautiful atmosphere color house, hotel then cross to the Merlion then arrived the Marina bay.
Second day as we took breakfast near by the Clarkquay, we went to little India caused we are India food lover expecially the Bryani with the chicken Tandoori, at that time there is an India festival so impressed for me: flower, souvenir, India snack and great people. at the afternoon time we moved to Arab street which is not too far from the little India we spend time there with a cup of coffee , you can see lovely mosque, people, house. Then bugis village nearby also fantastic , later shopping time to orchard road by mrt .
I can say this is authentic the main point we can see in Singapor, besides the Universal and Sentosa for children.
