Hi last part of the hols now nearly complete. Now then I might be asking a stupid question but here goes:- Can we travel from Phnom Penh to siem reap via a river ie take a ferry ? If the answer is yes can we have deatais of cost timings etc,,,,,if the answer is no ,,,,,, whats the best and easiest way to make the journey. We will be in the area at the end of March 2012 Many thanks POEPAT
Yes but it all depends on time of year and water levels. Our friends wanted to join us (they'd traveled to PP ahead of us who went directly to SR from Bangkok but were unable to do so by ferry. If the water is too low, boats and ferry service is cancelled. According to website it takes 4-6 hours and costs 25-36 USD: canbypublications.com/siemre... Homer

Water level is likely low in late-March. As said before, if it's not available, just take the bus. It's not that bad.

It's easy to find a tourist coach from SR to PP. It takes about 4-5 hours and the cost should be around USD10.
