    • Transit Visa

      Heathrow 3 hours ago

This is in continuation to my earlier question answered by you. My airlines says that I need to check in the baggage again(though I will be having hand baggage only).
      So the facts are that
      1. I am Indian citizen having a valid canada visa
      2. will need to change terminals 2 to 4 for taking the connecting air canada flight. (Air india and air canada flight tickets booked on same ticket with a time gap of 3 hrs)
      3. Airlines say that I need to check in the baggage again (though I will be having hand baggage only).

So what do you suggest should I get the transit visa and which type

      Seating at The Globe

      London Jul 2, 2015 at 12:56 PM

My wife and I enjoyed our tour last year of The Globe theatre and would like to return for a performance. As I recall the benches in the theatre were uncomfortable. The Shakespeare's Globe web site makes it appear that the only seating is on benches. My wife has a bad back and could not sit there for long. Are there any comfortable seats in the Globe?

It meets at the corner of Covent Garden Plazza by the Apple Store Does anyone recommend this tour? If so, can I take the tube from Heathrow Airport to the meeting location? Does anyone suggest buying the oyster pass? Once at the Plazza will there be plenty of points of interest within walking distance or will I need to take public transportation to visit places which if it's the case then I should. consider the pass, correct?

Windsor, Bath and Cotswolds as 2 day trips??

      London Jul 6, 2015 at 7:50 PM

Hello all! I have 2 days that I am trying to plan but I am lost on the how to's and if it can be done. Idealy on day one I would like to do Windsor and then go back to the hotel in london. Then on the second day train to bath see the roman baths, the jane austin centre and the circus (we have been to bath once before and are going with newbies - this is all the are interested in) then going out to the cotswolds to see Castle Combe and Bibury and that direction. We only want to see a few towns (2 or 3) before heading back to bath for dinner, then train back to London. I also thought that we could do windsor and cotswolds by rental car on day one. Stay the night someplace in that area and then on to bath the next day spending the day looking/shopping and heading back to london that night. What would be the best option?? I am uneasy about driving on the other side of the road so would option 2 not be a good idea or is it not a big deal? Thanks!!

**UPDATE** I know this is a lot in the amount of time we have but we just want an overview

    • Surprising Boyfriend

      Heathrow Jul 27, 2015 at 4:54 AM

      Hey everyone,

My boyfriend is flying in from Australia and landing in Heathrow at 6am on Wednesday and then flying to Amsterdam at 3pm that afternoon. I'm flying into Heathrow tomorrow night and sleeping in arrivals so I can surprise him when he lands. I am now worried that he won't need to go through customs and go through arrivals. The second flight to Amsterdam isn't on the same ticket as his original flight so does it count as a connecting flight? Or will he have to go out through customs before he catches his next flight?

      Cheers, Monique :-)

      Kensington area

      London Yesterday

We have booked a hotel near Kensington Olympia, since we are attending a happening at there. Now I have noticed that it might be expensive area to eat out at night, or visit some pubs Is it so? I´m not so pleased to our hotel, that I could easily change it, if I find something at reasonable price and with not too many changes of underground when attending to Olympia. There´s 3 weeks to go, so I´d rather decide soon.

Will be driving from Keswick to Shrewsbury in late July.

Would like advice on a route that will allow me to make 1 or 2 stops along the way to see something interesting...( historic site, unique city, museum, park, etc)......

Is it worth a side trip to Liverpool or Manchester?

Will be doing the drive in a single day.

      Ironbridge priorities and getting around

      Shropshire Jan 13, 2006 at 8:15 AM

Having looked at VT pages, there isn't much on Salop at all and I have always wanted to go there. Opportunity could present itself soon and I plan to then see Ludlow and Shrewsbury as well as Ironbridge. Would that be the gems or am I missing something (being early spring, hill trekking is out of the question for me)?

Another question is how you get around by public transport? I would combine it with Manchester for work reasons so which town is easiest to reach from it and would that be good to have as a base in general? Is there a county bus pass or something? Can you only get to Ironbridge via Telford? Lots and lots of questions... :) Oh, and what are the priorities at Ironbridge. Hubby would accompany me and is interested in all engineeering history so no problem there but as for me and the seven-year-old? I understand there is a historical centre with shops etc. but what else for her? There seems to be so much to chose from.
