Hi.. I'll be going to Shima 9-10 Oct 2010. I am wondering what is the weather condition over there and the "must see" place. would like to meet up with VT members over there too.
October should be perfect,not too cold the rains should also have stopped.But will be crowded owing to the commonwealth games in Delhi,lot of people heading to the hills.Must see you can hire a local cab and cover most of the places in one day.Jhakhu temple,Indian Institute of Advanced Studies,Kufri,Naldhera,Chail etc.

Shimla would be very cold in October if you are coming from a Tropical country The temp would range from -5°C to 15°C. If you are going to Shimla please go by a Train. Its very famous in Shimla Its called The Great Himalayan Express - Its a toy train and its one of diff experience to travel by this. It goes to many tunnels and some major landscapes.

Hi temp in shimla never reaches -5 degree. In second week of october it is expected to be 10 to 15 at night and 15 to 20 at daytime. Must keep warm clothes with you. Ofcourse, bcoz of commonwealth games you might hv some difficulties in bookings. You will love to stay in Delhi in those days as it will be happening place during games. I dont know when are u reaching India, if u can manage, try to be part of opening or closing ceremony of the games on 3rd and 14th oct respectively (if you are visiting Delhi). Hi Hi All. Thanks for the info, Shimla seem pretty cole to me then. Yes. Will bring my jackets. I'll be in Shimla from 9 - 11 Oct, the off to the Golden Triangle. I've book a private car to Shimla, so wont be taking train up. Toy Train seems fun, will definitely. would want to miss train experience.
