Hello, Can anyone tell me what will the temperature be in Shimla during day and night time by mid December ? What time will it gets dark ? I'm taking the afternoon toy train from Shimla, arriving Kalka at 20.10pm. The connecting train to Delhi departs at 23:45pm. Can anyone suggest me what must I do during the almost 4 hours waiting ? Is there a waiting lounge at Kalka Railway station or I will be frozed to death ? TQ.
hello in 2005 dec after visiting PAKISTAN went to shimla from kalka, yeah its really very cold, warm clothes to be worn all the time,please take a local transport to KUFRI you will enjoy the scenery and the snow, you can ride a horse up the hill assisted by the horseman,there is a rest room , in kalka rail st. thanks ruben

I was in Kalka 10 days back, took the toy train to Shimla. There is nothing much you can do at Kalka railway station, but it does have a waiting room, but aint sure if they have heaters in there. Be sure to have a camera along with you as the views from the toy train are beautiful and make sure you have a hotel or room booked in advance. Touts selling hotel rooms will pester you the moment you get off the train. There is a Himachal tourism office at the train station, make sure you avail thier facilities. There are also day trips organised by the Himachal tourism, book those tours at thier office on Mall road. Have a safe trip
