change location

help needed

we have three days to spend, and are flying into shannon airport. We are a couple in our mid-50s, and need to plan some kind of itinerary for these days.It was suggested that we stay in Limerick as a home base, & travel to Adare, Bunratty & maybe even Galway? Does this sound like a good plan? Also, we need to see if buses & trains are readily available, as we don't drive. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks,
