Hi: Is driving in Seychelles as relatively easy? Difficult to get lost? Dangerous? We are thinking of renting a car straight from the airport and going to our hotel Kempinski in Bai Lazare but don't want to get lost on the way after the long flight. Thanks
Admittedly it was 1989 when we visited but having looked up a map of Mahe on Google it doesnt look as if the road network has become incredibly complicated since then. We hired a mini moke - an open little mini with a roof shade - and we used it to get around the island. It seems there is basically a single road that skirts round the edge of the island with a few roads cutting across the middle of the island. I can't imagine most experienced drivers would find it a challenge. Have a great trip. We loved the Seychelles. Regards, Mike

Hi, The road is straight forward from the airport to Baie Lazare. You definitely will not get lost. You might be better off getting an automatic due to the multiple bands and hilly areas. depending on your arrival time you might face heavy traffic from 0730-0800 with school runs and workers commuting same will be for 1430 - 1600hrs. But very often in the morning they will be going towards town and evening from town. You would also want to avoid driving in the dark as there are limited road lightings. Otherwiae you are good to go. Rgds Chanty
