I'm looking for a place to go with my family of 8 for dinner near the Vatican. Definitely want good food. Not too concerned about price. Would love if there was something kind of special about the place like free wine with dinner, music, etc.
I served on the USS Little Rock between 1968 and 1970. The ship at that time was also the flag ship of th sixth fleet. After all these years my wife and I plan to visit Gaeta for one day in a couple of weeks. Anyone currently affiliated , with the US Navy, can supply the following: if we can visit the current flag ship? Can we visit the Navy Community Center and the location please.
We are planning to spend a day in Pitigliano. Are there other interesting towns nearby that we can reach by public transport? Would you spend the night in Pitigliano or Grosseta?
What is the best way to get from Perugia to the Park? Trains go through Rome, making it at least a 6 hour trip when it should only be 3! I don't have a car, but I'm hoping there are buses? Maybe from the south of Umbria, like Terni?
Hi, I will be travelling to Mestre on 1st March with a child & baby. We're flying into Marco Polo airport & staying beside piazza ferretto. How close to Mestre train station is this? We plan to get the flybus from the airport and from what I can make out it stops here. Alternatively is there a train from the airport or how much should we expect to pay for a taxi? Thank you in advance for any advise you can offer...
We are 1 adult and 2 children 8/11 - does anyone want´s to share transport to Livigno?
We may be in Italy in November and am wondering what the area around Cosenza is like for weather and touring at that time of year.
We've already booked a train from Paris to Turin online and now have a couple more to book. I'm not sure if a certain type of train is worth the extra $ (quieter, less crowded, more legroom, etc.. for the 3+ hr trip)... (These are prices for 2 people)
1. Turin to Monterosso on Apr 27th. I see we can book now on Italiarail.com BUT there are 3 different train types to choose from. Which would you pick?
- Regionale Veloce (3hr 30min) for $63
- InterCity (3hr 15min) for $79
- FRECCIABIANCA (3hr 22min) for $76
The length of the trip seems about the same for all 3 train types.
2. Venice to Paris (May 12).
- 6 berth couchette: $234
- 4 berth couchette: $281
- Triple Sleeper: $328
For an extra $50 per person, do you think it would be more quiet & convenient to book the 3 bed sleeper? Then we may even have the whole cabin to ourselves vs a 4 or 6 berth couchette which we'd surely have other people in there too.
We are staying in Sorrento for 4 days this coming June. We would like to travel down the Amalfi coast and visit the different cities as we have seen the beautiful pictures and scenery that have been taken. Also we would be interested in visiting Capri on another day. Can anyone suggest the best way to see these 2 areas. We have seen several one day tours available, or would it be to our advantage to visit the Amalfi coastal cities by using the bus and walking the cities at our pace rather than stuck in a van for 8 hours?
Up for suggestions! Thanks for everyone’s responses.
We will be in Siena for Easter of 2014. We would like to go to church on Easter Sunday and we would like to see any local pageants or festivities. Any advice? Also, we have heard about a cheese-rolling in Tuscany on Easter Monday (little Easter). Does anyone know where it is and how far it is from Siena?
