Hello, I will be going overseas to South Korea for about a year. Is their network CDMA or GSM? I heard it may be WCDMA but I want to make sure. I was looking for a smartphone that I can use out there. I was even considering using Verizon's international but I have a feeling it will become expensive. Can someone provide me some info? Thanks!

Hi all! i'll be travelling to Seoul next year February during New Year / Seollal week. I plan to go to these places - DMZ, Nami Island, Lotte World Amusement Park. are these open during the holidays? if yes, is it better to go during that time or before (to avoid crowds)? and do shops open during the holidays?
My girl friend is going to Seoul this winter. I want to know the Hostel. I want to find comfortable, safty and good shopping area hostel. Do you know any good hostel?
Hello, I will be in Seoul for the month of January, 2013 doing an "internship" at the Seoul National University Hospital. Yes, I am a doctor. I don't speak any Korean and know very little about Korean Culture. I am originally from India, but studied and working in the US. I would like to meet up with young, proffessisonal, english speaking locals/expats to hang out on weekends and explore the city and surrounding areas. Any takers?! Thanks! Sartaj
Hi, me and my hubby is coming to Seoul this December. Can anyone suggest a nicely located hotel? Here are my considerations- should be 3 to 4 star, ranging usd80-130/night, relaxing atmosphere, near subway, with nearby shops and restaurants (local or intl). I've been to Seoul once, have seen Itaewon and i dont like it much. Myeongdong is ok but can get too crowded and noisy. I haven't seen Insadong and Gangnam area. Do you think this could be an ideal area? I'm now looking at Aventree Hotel, Astoria, and Ramada Hotel Suites. Any suggestions please.. Thanks!
Hi i'm travelling to Soeul next month, I've been looking for a hotel to stay. I have no idea which areas are convenient. Anyone can help me with just naming a couple of street names or districts that are good locations? Is Gangnam district a good place to stay? I've looked up Nox Boutique Hotel, and Manhattan Hotel Seoul, how are those two hotels? and as for easy access to shopping areas and tourist attractions, is Gangnam a good place to stay? Otherwise, where is? Thank you so much!
Hi! Arriving into Seoul for New Year's Eve this year. Any recommendations for neat things to do New Year's Eve/Day? thanks much! :) E
On my way home to the United States from Vietnam, I have a 35 hour layover in Seoul. My flight will arrive 8pm and depart the following day at 4pm. Does anyone know if I need to obtain a Visa to go out of the airport to stay in a hotel and do some sight-seeing? Also, please tell me the best way to get to a hotel and places to see. Thank you!
hi folks :) i have a 23 hour layover in Incheon. i will be set up in a hotel by Korean Air, dunno where exactly until i arrive. i was just wondering if any of you could provide me with some tips and details as to what i can do during the hours i have available. i would like something simple and easy to get to and from. nothing too far either. know of any good, reputable group/bus tours? and how much US dollars would you guesstimate i should exchange for that 23 hours? i'll mainly use it for food and possibly simple souvenirs. thanks in advance.
I've been in some other cities in Korea but have yet to go to Seoul. I want to see some of the culture as well as unique things about the city. Any personal experience with this city and what it has to offer?
I'm stopping over in Seoul on my way back to the US after spending most of the year in China. Looking for a mid-price hotel and a good Korean sauna.Korean saunas are something I really enjoy, especially the big soaking pools followed by a massage. Finding a good one is a priority on my short trip.If the hotel and sauna are not too far apart, that would of course be convenient. Arriving 1 p.m. Monday afternoon 29 October and am flying out of ICN 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, two days later. Could spend 175,000 KRW or so per night on lodging. Maybe a little more. Don't mind if it's in a less popular area, as long as public transportation is convenient. Was hoping to spend Monday afternoon and evening relaxing in the jimjilbang or sauna and Tuesday go to some museums or palaces. Will come back later with questions about that part. I don't speak Korean but have been to Seoul several times before. Am traveling solo. The Sauna needs to be one where foreigners are allowed. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.
We are planning to stop in Korea on our way back to the US. It will be the last couple of weeks in March. Some questions: What will the weather be like in the middle of March? How much time should we plan to spent... we are somewhat flexible. What should we see? We will be flying into Seoul from Hanoi. Is it possible for Americans to go the North Korea? Thank you in advance.
Hi all, This will be my very first time in Seoul and I'm kind of nervous as I don't speak one word of Korean other than hello. I'll be traveling alone with 2 heavy suitcases, and I'm thinking, even though expensive, getting to my hotel by taxi is probably my best bet. The question is, there seem to be several different types of taxi services: regular, deluxe, etc. I understand you pay more for deluxe as the drivers have been vetted, the services are better, and all that jazz. But are deluxe taxis so much better than the regular ones that I should consider spending more? Any chances I might get ripped off by one of the regular taxis, etc.? Any tips on what to watch out for would be much appreciated.
We are fine leaving Seoul at 7am. we are considering Nami and Garden of Morning calm. reasons are just simply take autumnal sceneries. Im sure they have great sceneries rather than the usual spots in Seoul city. planning to take the train from Seoul, oh by the way, we are staying in Myeong Dong. so take the subway there transfer to Dongdaemun, then Hoegi or Cheongnyangni, then another one to Mangu or Sanbong??? Im quite confused because there are 2 lines P1 K1. which station should i transfer from Sanbong or Mangu? Cheongpyeong is my stop for the Garden of Morning Calm. then from there just walk to the bus terminal and look for the buses that goes directly to the garden. take again the bus to the Cheongpyeong bus terminal and walk to the train station. Proceed to Gapyeong then take a taxi for Nami Island wharf. How many hours is the most ideal to be in the morning calm garden? by 12pm or 1pm we shall proceed to Nami Island. from Cheongpyeong train station, is it advisable to hop on and off the Gapyeong tourist bus (going to nami, petite france etc) of just commute? walk to Cheongpyeong bus station and then take the bus to the morning calm garden then same way back to Cheongpyeong train station then wait for the train for Gapyeong then take taxi to Nami Island? we are 6 in the group. THanks
We will have 4 person and dont want to stay too expensive place, either 4 in an apartment or 2 rooms hotel . OUr bugdet will be around USD 70-80 / room , near to city center , Myeongdong area . Any suggestion

Hi, I'm visiting South Korea on bussines and am staying in Bundang, near Ori station. Since I got to go back in few days I found that the easiest way to Inchon airport is on limousine bus. Also I found that there is a limousine bus stop on Ori station, but I just can't find a sign where it actually is. Does anyone know where should I wait for the bus? On the bus stop next to the Starbucks? When I arrived I was met by the colleagues and they drove me to the hotel, but they don't live near so they also aren't sure, and my korean = 0. Thanks.

I have a 14 hours layover during the day on 15 June, 2012. I plan on venturing out into Seoul on my own and would like some advice on what I can do between 6:00AM amd 6:00PM. Not doing any shopping since my final destination is Sydney.
I will be visiting Seoul in June 2012 with my friend who is from Korea. We will be staying with her older sister in Seoul and another sister in Incheon (probably one week at each place). I would like to bring something from the US that would be appropriate and enjoyed by the families. All of the family members are over 60 years old (if that makes any difference). One niece who will be acting as tour guide is in her late 30's (she has her own appartment). Thank you for any suggestions.
