I will be visiting Seoul in June 2012 with my friend who is from Korea. We will be staying with her older sister in Seoul and another sister in Incheon (probably one week at each place). I would like to bring something from the US that would be appropriate and enjoyed by the families. All of the family members are over 60 years old (if that makes any difference). One niece who will be acting as tour guide is in her late 30's (she has her own appartment). Thank you for any suggestions.
I don't know if the family have been to the USA or not but i often give gifts to people i visit abroad. I find that a large expensive pictorial book of my country (with a note inside) is usually enjoyed by all, young and old, so they can see my country in pictures and i explain about different regions. Buying a gift is always difficult and sometimes people give me duty free items such as drink or chocolates, which is appreciated but that is not something that you can keep and look at now and again.

Took the words right out of my mouth/keyboard, you can't go wrong with a beautiful book on your own country especially if you know hardly anything of your hosts.

Pictorial book sounds good. But if you want to be adventurous and have space in luggage, check out this. The fact you researched to bring vitamins/coffee will be a good gesture also. askakorean.blogspot.com/2011... He's a Korean-American lawyer who blogs about things related to Koreans. Featured on NYT, CNN etc. Since the people are in 60's and 30's, coffee and vitamins may be good gestures.
