Hi fellow travellers, Need your help for info on Ferry schedule to Karimun Jawa. Some sites cite Wednesday and Saturday. Others only mentioned Saturday. Appreciate also any info as to where I can make purchase of ferry tickets in advance. Thanks.
hi there, here is the ferry schedule : By Kapal Motor Kartini I Reservation : Budi Utomo (081 328 266 781) Duration : Semarang to Karimun (3-3.5 hours); Jepara - Karimun (2.5 hours) Schedule = Saturday: Semarang – Karimunjawa 08.30 WIB Sunday : Karimunjawa – Semarang 14.00 WIB Monday : Every fisrt week and third week Semarang(07:00WIB)–Jepara(09:30 WIB)– Karimunjawa Tuesday : Every first week and third week Karimunjawa ( 11:00 WIB ) Price : from Rp. 35.000,- to Rp 130.000 Another ferry shcedule, you can contact ASPD Jepara 0291-591048

Hi! I was also planning to do a weekend trip to Karimun Jawa (KJ) by end of this month but had to cancel because the fast ferry (KMC Kartini I) from Semarang to KJ is now being repaired and will only resume operations by first week of July 2009. So if you are going to KJ before July, your only option would be to take the big ferry (KMP Muria) from Jepara. KMP Muria can carry a total of 250 passengers (41 pax in the VIP section and 200 pax at the Economy section). The ticket at VIP section (air-conditioned with toilet inside) costs Rp 60,250 and Rp 30,500 at the Economy section. Travel time takes about 5 ½ to 6 hours. For ticket reservation & purchase, you may contact and ask the help of Mr.STEFANUS (08122505725/office of Angkutan Sungai Danau & Penyebrangan (ASDP), Jalan Kolonel Sugiono No. 290, Jepara) to help you. You can reserve the ticket with him and then pay when you get there. Here is the schedule of KMP Muria: Monday 9:00AM – 3:00PM (from Jepara to Karimun Jawa) Tuesday 8:00AM – 2:00PM (from Karimun Jawa to Jepara) This schedule is only available around the 3rd week-4th week of each month (from the 20th-30th of the month). Wednesday 9:00AM – 3:00PM (from Jepara to Karimun Jawa) Thursday 8:00AM – 2:00PM (from Karimun Jawa to Jepara) Saturday 9:00AM – 3:00PM (from Jepara to Karimun Jawa) Sunday 8:00AM – 2:00PM (from Karimun Jawa to Jepara) As additional info, in October last year I went to KJ from Semarang and used the fast ferry KMC Kartini. The ticket costs Rp105,000 (Bisnis class) and Rp 125,000 (Eksekutif class) and the schedule was: Saturday 9AM to 12:30PM (from Semarang harbour to Karimunjawa) Sunday 2:00PM-5:30PM (from Karimunjawa to Semarang harbour) Ticket reservations, contact Bpk Purwanto 08156627808, 024-7604640, 024-7605660.
