I would be visiting on a business travel from india for a week. What would be the average spend (excluding the hotel) per day on food, travel etc. I would be obliged if you could give me cost of some of the common stuff used for daily use like water, cigeretts, food , cost of taxi, drinks , beer. etc. Also would it be cold during that time. Thanks in advance.

My Girlfriend and I are trying to plan a trip to Seattle and will be there for 3 days over a weekend. We are going to try and do some of the "touristy" things, but are looking for some different things as well. Such as possibly seeing celebrity homes, maybe haunted places, or interesting places not too many people know about. Just unusual but interesting stuff! I haven't been able to find much, but it could be my lack of google skills. If anyone has any ideas it would be very much appreciated!! Thank You!
My husband and I are visiting Seattle next week from Wed-Sun. We have some things in mind we want to see/do, but any other recommendations would be great. We are staying in the Queen Anne neighborhood. So far on our agenda we want to do the BOA Tower, Pike's Place, Bainbridge Island, Salty's on Alki Beach and hopefully take in a baseball game while we are there. One of my questions is do we need to rent a car, or is public trans pretty easy to access? We have a car on hold, but if we don't need to spend the money and can walk or take mass transit that would work. We love to walk so that's not an issue, but not sure about the locale of some of the places we want to go. Also, we love to try different beers and was wondering what some cool places would be to go whether it be live music or just some low key places. We aren't into the fancy, high-priced drinks either. We definately want to find the Harley store while we are there as well. Any ideas would be of great help. Thank you.
We have tickets to the U2 concert ticket tonight at Qwest Field. Any suggestions on best place to park or a park & ride option? Thanks
I'm thinking to buy a netbook....what you suggest for a good deal

Are there hotels in down town Seattle that have a free shuttle from the airport? When I was there before I had to take some kind of general van shuttle and pay. I am going to be in Seattle on May 12th before starting a cruise to Alaska. Are there any hotels that have a shuttle to the cruise ship docks? Is the monorail running? Can I use the monorail from the downtown area to get to the Space Needle for dinner? How far in advance should I make the dinner reservations?
Hi We are planning to visit Seattle this weekend, can you please recommend us the clean yet inexpensive place in town? We don't have itinerary(except shopping) but can you recommend us where to go first to get the money's worth items? How about recommending us to selected few spots that is not far from the shopping center you will recommend? Thanks!
I'll be coming into Seattle on Monday 4/4 for a conference and staying in the downtown district x 3D. After reading all of the posts in the Seattle forum, it is clear to me that I can't possibly see everything in 3D , especially if I have to be in sessions during the day...:-( So boil it down for me, seasoned Seattle people. I already know I want to: Go to Pike Market Take the Bainbridge ferry (what times are best?) go to the Space Needle, but on the fence. People are saying the views from the BoA tower are better Experience Music Project vs. Underground Tour I will most likely be dining alone, but I hate wasting stomach space. Not a fan of hotel or franchise restaurant food. Suggestions?
Trying to venture out alone. Is Seattle safe and easily accessable by public transportation? Where to stay and what to do? Interests are mainly normal tourist related, but would also like to get out of the city. Any recommendations for tours?
We are with a group of 11 arriving a day before a cruise in May. Several would like to go the Pike Market and walk around for the afternoon. We are staying at a hotel that will transport us back to the airport to pick up the light rail there. What stop do we need to get off at for the Market and the "free zone"? Some in our group are elderly and can't walk great distances. Thanks for the help!
Hello, I will be traveling to Seattle soon and would really like to see the Fremont Troll while I'm there. For this trip however, I will not have a rental car. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get there via public transportation? I will be staying downtown (either the Pike Place or Space Needle areas). I've read that both bus routes 5 and 26 stop near the troll. Is one of these preferable over the other? Where can I pick up/get off the bus, and where do I walk from there? I have only been to Seattle once and am not very familiar with the streets, so I'm looking for the easiest journey. I appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance :-)
I've been to Seattle many times before when I was working on cruise ships. Me and my family want to go and celebrate the 4th of July there. I've been during summer but never for long to celebrate the 4th. Any ideas on what to do or what to see?

I will be living in seattle soon and would like to live downtown/capitol hill area (my husband works there) I will need to be to northwest hospital by 7:45am and would like to know how bad traffic will be from the downtown area at that time. How long do you think it would take to drive there is my real question. Thanks!!!!!!!!
I am so excited to be planning our vaction for next Spring! We have been a FL/Disney family for the past 5 years and can't wait to see something new! It will be me, my dh, my dd-9, and ds-1. The furthest West we have been was a week in the Denver area in Feb. 09. We will have 2 weeks. I have been back and forth on how to do this. I need to figure out what is the ceapest airport to fly into. From there we will make a loop, rturning to the same airport and flying home. The main things we want to see are San Francisco (we plan to visit some family), Sooma, Redwoods, Cannon Bch, Portland, Olympic Pen., Victoria BC, and Seattle. It's a lot, I know. But some places will just be a break in the drive, like Sonoma. I watched a National park special once about Olympic NP and have loved it since. I can't wait!!!! So, newbie here! Going to be looking for info on EVERYTHING! Hotels, routes, what to pack, must sees, ect...!!!! Thank you! You VTers look like you know your stuff!
I suddenly find myself going to Seattle at the last minute. I arrive sunday afternoon, have an interview monday morning and afternoon and fly out on tuesday. I am looking for cool things to do in the area and possible someone to do them with.
Hello VTers! I'm looking for the best way to travel from the airport to Pioneer Square. I see there are shuttles, taxis and public transportation available, I'd rather go with the least expensive option (so I'm guessing public transportation), as long as it's still convenient to do so with luggage. Any advice? Thanks!
Hi! I'm in the early stages of planning my first trip to Seattle and I'd like to know in which area I should look for a hotel. I'd rather be close to most attractions, whether on foot or by public transportation. Is it best to stay near Pike Place Market or Space Needle or...? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
