We have organized a trip to Schotland at the end February. We have most of the activities in place, places to stay, distilleries, golf and the like. What I like to know, is there anything where you can please a Scotsman with. We are from the Netherlands and like to bring something for our hosts. Thanks
Peter, the first choice is probably not postable on VT, but depending on your host a round of some vintage drink might be in order.

Hi I have a Scots friend and always take a small gift when we visit. However though it senems odd to take a bottle of whisky to him he is pleased at the thought of a gift no matter what. How about taking something that is traditionally Dutch? Maybe a bottle or a gift that reflects your countries culture? Just a thought

Jenever? It's not easy to find in the UK. Dutch chocolate, stroop wafel, hagelslag or unusual sweets; salmiak perhaps? A nice Delft tile or vase with a tulip in? Or a tie or scarf with a Delft print? Miffy gifts if they have a child? Basically something representative of your country, you'll know what better than I.
