Transfer time

by Maryjosho Online Now Sep 30, 2010 at 9:25 PM

I will be landing in Hall 3 next week and transferring to a flight leaving from Hall 2. I will have carry on luggage with me. Will I have enough time? Will I need to go through Customs and Security again?
Thanks,
MJ

time is all you have, it's on your side depending on how much you have? You can go from hall 1 to hall 2... It depends on where you are coming from There is a custom area for Schengen fights and non schengen flights. If you are coming in from outside the EU and first desitation, customs and security check is needed as you pick up your bags to proceed.Cheers Tommy x

Hall 3 and hall 2 are confusing indications.

Schiphol has 1 main terminal with 3 sections; ergo you do not have to travel to another building.

I assume you have to check in, because you tranfer to a cheap carrier (otherwise you just can stay in the transfer area).

IF you have to chack in at departures 2, you have to go through immigration and customs; on average that takes 30 minutes.

After check-in it's immigrations and gate security.

I gave you a complete answer in your second posting.

In short: 40 minutes is OK but don't linger around in the Lounges.....

If you have an EU passport, and only hand luggage it's easy. I was whisked through in about two minutes last week
