.......does anyone know how to get here from Amsterdam?
It depends on where you have to be in Scheveningen. One possibility is the train to Den Haag HS and then tram 1 (to Scheveningen beach/Kurhaus). The site of Den Haag public transport is at http://www.htm.nl/

It's 50 minutes by Intercity train from Amsterdam Central Station to The Hague (Den Haag) Central Station. From there it's a 15 minutes tramride (line 9) to Scheveningen. Yes- very easy- Go to Centraal station and take train to Haague. The number 1 bus right from the train station will take you down there.
