I will be landing to Olbia tomorrow at 21:45. It is a sunday and I noticed that there will be no busses at that time. Is there any other way for me to get to STG tomorrow that does not cost me a fortune? Btw, I do not have a diriving licence.. :/

My girlfriend (23) and I (27) are planning to visit Sardegna from July 29 - August 5 this summer.

We are flying to Alghero and our initial plan is to rent a car and drive to the north east part of the island, and stay here for 3-4 days - before driving back to Alghero, return the car, and spend the last 3-4 days in Alghero.

How does this itinerary sound?

Can you recommend some must see/ things to do? Both in Alghero and North-east island.

Good places to stay in Alghero and north-east island?

We have thought about snorkeling - where is the best place to do this?

We have booked our accomodation via a tour operator in Germany, sardinien.de is the website....found a good deal and closed it before checking too much. Now...we're afraid that maybe it's a scam, we can not find any reviews on the company, nor the accomodation, which is quite odd nowadays....
We're hooked with a villa near city of Pula, compound name: Is Suergius de Mari - H2 Rosa.
Can you please advice.....have you heard about this site or discover-sardinia.com - do you know anyone who booked with them, etc

Hi, we will be landing in Olbia (July 3rd) and will go around the island spending a few days in different spots. My question is can we rent a car at Olbia airport (Jul. 3rd) and bring it back at Alghero airport (July 13th) since we will be leaving from Alghero?? Or do I have to pick-up and return the car at the same location?? Any recommendations on car rental companies? Thanks!

We are looking to spend about 7 days in Cagliari early June 2013. In common with other places, we try to stay centrally. I see the beaches are not near the Old Town, this does not present a problem, we dop not mind a walk up to 30 minutes or so to the beach but likes of Poetto beach may be further? By contrast, we like the central cafes and ristorante to be just a few steps out of the hotel when we go out in the evening. Does anyone have any ideas for hotels near the centro storico with decent autobus links to Poetto or similar? Look forward as always to your replies

I'm in the early stages of planning a 2013 summer family vacation and can't find pricing for the car ferry from Cagliari to Naples/Salerno. Please don't reply with the link to one of the ferry lines - pricing is not yet posted for next summer. I'm just interested in what someone may have paid in summer 2012 for a car and maybe the cheapest seating/berth. It appears the duration is about 17 hrs. Anyone know the usual frequency per week in the summer season? Any information on what to expect? We are a family of 5, 3 boys, just looking for simple passage.

Hello everyone! I'm going to Serdegna this summer during 8 or 10 days at the end of August, beginning September. After reading guides and forums I'm so confused about where to stay. The only thing that I'm sure is to stay around 3 nights in Alghero. Then, I'm open to consider other cities/town to stay. My ideal trip will be stay in a not too busy but charming town of cities, near or on the beach, easy to access to must see places of the island, with restaurants and bars where have a drink. My idea is not go for party but a little bit of nighlife will be ok. What we want to avoid is the super tourist crowded and posh places. Some people reccommend the south but seem that in the North East are must sees in the island...What would you reccommend? Thanks in advance for any info!

Thinking of going to Sardinia with our chidren aged 7 and 4. What is weather like in August, would it be unbearable hot? Don't know anything about the island at all - so any suggestions of good areas to be based in, or recommendations of places to stay would be welcome. We would probably want somewhere self catering and not too far from the coast, but not keen on the idea of an apartment in a complex or being in a big resort. Thanks

Hello, We are arriving into Olbia Airport on Sunday 17th June via an EasyJet flight at 10.35am & return on 24th June at 11am. Public transport from the airport to Cala Gonone on a Sunday is a bit of a nightmare and taxis are proving to be quite expensive! However, I've had taxi quotes for 120 euros each way for up to 4 people or 140 euros for up to 8 people. This obviously brings the price per person down quite considerably which is good news! Our problem - where to find another 2-6 people to share with apart from handing out flyers in the Easyjet check-in queue and totally embarrassing ourselves! So if you are in a similar predicament and arriving on that same morning too - maybe we can group together and share a taxi. :) Also, if anybody is driving that direction and would like help towards their fuel costs in exchange for 2 extra passengers that would be great too! Hi There Vt'ers, We are going to Cagliari for a friend's wedding in July, Flying in on a Thursday and Returning back to London on Sunday, so we have 3 full days. The wedding is on Saturday evening. I like the beach however don't want to spend the entire time by the beach. So a tentative plan at the moment is arrive in Cagliari pickup a prebooked car from the airport, and head to a rural farm cottage 1.5 - 2.5 hrs from the airport for an overnight stay (Agritourismo type of place) Friday after Lunch head to Cagliari stay by the beach meet friends for dinner. Saturday during the day explore Cagliari wedding Saturday night and Sunday mid morning return. Questions 1. Can you please recommend a place like a farm rural town/village we can visit and stay a night about 1.5-2.5 hrs from Cagliari. We really like farm cottages so we can get a local feel and try some local food etc.... 2. Is there a scenic route to get back from the location above to Cagliari. 3. is 1 day enought to Explore Cagliari? 4. Can you recommend some family run hotels or B&B's in Cagliari at a reasonable price close to Poetto beach. Thanks ER

Hello, I have booked flights into Olbia in May, and am now looking for recommendations for where to spend my 5 days in beautiful Sardinia!! I'm planning on staying on a campsite to keep it cheap, can anyone recommend a lovely place to go? Ideally I'd like somewhere that I can get to on public transport, about 1-2hrs away from the campsite. Has anyone been to the Isuledda eurocamp? or the one at baia blu? I can't decide whether to go north, or maybe to head south of olbia to san teodoro. Can anyone recommend any nice places? Thanks, Katie

My mom really likes the glitz and glamour but we went to Sicily last year and she wasn't enamored with it. she would like to go to St Tropez again as she liked it and we stayed in a fantastic small and friendly hotel. Hi, which are the best villages to set a hotel base to explore the North of Sardegna for 7 full days with a toddler? We will rent a car, so it will not be a problem to explore during the day/night, but would be convenient if the area/village around the hotel even if driving, have a night life as far as restaurants goes. Thought of booking flights arriving in Alghero and leaving from Olbia since we wish to move around rather then spend a whole week in 1 village...Makes sense? Thank you so much! I am off to Sardinia next week staying at the Nyce Club near Badesi but cannot find out anything about Badesi. Can anyone suggest a website (apart from the hotel webiste)that would give me some information.
