Does anyone knows if there are buses to go straight to Lagoa da Conceição or Joaquina from the city center of Florianopolis? thinking to go back there but don't know how to go by bus. Thanks!
I am planning to fly from Salvador to Brasilia for a game in the 2014 World Cup but time is tight so would it be best to go from the airport to the ground by Taxi or by Metro?
Hi,
I am in Rio de Janeiro and would like to go to Ilha Grande next friday, the 24th of may 2013 until the 27th.
I've been told that during weekends, it get's quite packed, and you need to book in advance;
Since it is low season now, is this still recommended?
Also: Does anybody can recommend me a place to stay? I am in my 30's, single traveller, would like to meet nice people, but not be in a place full with party-people.
Thank you!!
Saar
Hello My Friends, what day is the outdoor market in Embu das Artes? Can you give me any suggestions/pointers for going to the market?
Thanks Will
I am leaving Buzios tommorrow morning. Do not have an clear idea on how to get to this apartment in the area of Rio or Copacabana: The owner or manager wrote the following information: Se você chegar pelos Aeroportos Santos Dumont ou Galeão, pode pegar o ônibus "FRESCÃO" que o deixará a 50 metros do apto e da sede da Agência, onde retirará as chaves.
I am in Buzios right now. I am planning to take a taxi that will take to bus station, Auto Viacao 1001 from here to the airport at Rio de Janeiro. According to the directions given to me by the owner do I take the Frescao to my final destination? Will the Frescao take my two pieces of luggage? Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank You
I have 1 month to drive around Brazil. I was thinking to buy a car and then to sell it at the end.
Is it possible and does people practice it?
How do you get to Ilha Grande, I've googled it and i can't find any references to how you get to the island?!?! Any recommendations on how long to stay and where to go on there.
People say to book if in season and not if out of season as you can get fantastic deals. I'm going in September, is that in season or out??
From research I see that people recommend Lopez Mendez beach, Abraoo Cove, Dois Rios, Dos Merlos, Saco de cue, blue lagoon, and Green Lagoon. Obviously theres a ton of places here, how plausible is it to all of them? and how do you get around the island, it looks massive, can you walk to all these places??
Cheers again for all the help in advance!
We just found out that we will be in/around Rio during the start of Carnival 2014! We are just working on an itinerary for two weeks in Brazil, however things have changed since out recent discovery. Here's what we were thinking of doing:
1/30 - Buenos Aires-Iguazu Falls
1/31 - Iguazu - Salvador
2/4 - Salvador - Ouro Preto(via Belo Horizonte)
2/7-Ouro Preto-Rio
2/10-Rio-Buzios
2/14 Buzios to GIG(late flight home)
I think getting accommodations on Rio on the dates suggested will be a nightmare! Should we go to Rio at the start of Carnival or perhaps the end of our trip 2/12-14?? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, I was wondering what the best way to visit, Suger Mountain, Corcovado Mountain and Christ Redeemer Statue is? Do you have to do a tour? Looking for the best but cheapest way.. Any advice on things to do in Rio in general would also be fantastic!!
Thanks, Lewis
Canadian citizen living in England travelling by air from London to Peru via Sao Paulo. Airline from London to Lima is TAM.
Is a visa required to change planes?
Don't tell me 'it depends' on whether going landside or whatever - I would like to hear from Canadians who have changed planes in Sao Paulo, or who have travelled with someone with a Canadian passport. Thank you.
Hello,
I´m going to visit Rio in three days. I would like to ask two last questions :
1. At the International airport, I need to change a little money for the bus, what`s the best change ATM or a change office ?
If I draw out money in ATM airport, is the same comission that in Rio city ATM or is bigger ?
2. In the weekend, I would like to visit Pao de Azucar or Corcovado but I think there`ll a lot of people. Which one is less crowded ?
Thank you for your help. Kind regards
Victor
I will be leaving to Rio in a couple of days. I will be spending a couple of days in Buzios and seven nights in Rio. Should I take US cash with me? or should I use the local banks to withdraw money using my Bank's ATM? I need to pay for the rent of the places where I am staying at and also need to have cash for the bus transfer, dinning, etc. Any suggestions please help. Thank You
Bought two tickets to fly to Brazil from Flight Centre in London.
Don't usually buy from travel agents as you pay commission on sales, preferring to buy online, but we did on this occasion due to various connecting flights.
On transit we were stopped from boarding our flight to Brazil. My husband is British but me being Australian needed a visa. Dream holiday costing £2500, cancelled!
Contacted our travel agent, only to be asked 'what passport do you have?' Now I appreciate it is our responsibility to ensure we have appropriate documentation for travel, but is it too much to expect that an agent gives you basic information regarding your flight before you buy such a costly holiday? Isn't that what you are paying commission for?
The best bit....after raising our concerns with Flight Centre customer services, we received a letter negating any responsibility on their part (no surprises there) and then going on to say: sorry your trip to Mexico hadn't worked out???
Flight Centre travel agents, since when is Brazil part of Mexico. didn't you even bother reading our email?
I don't understand why anyone should buy tickets through a travel agent, why not just buy them online and do your own research??
I recently accepted a new job that will require travel to S. America. My first trip will take to be Sao Paulo. Depending on whom I talk to, I am either very excited or very worried about traveling south. I would appreciate any feedback, guidance you may offer to help me have safe journeys down below. I will also always be traveling with locals so I won't have to drive myself, etc. Thank you.
two questions: - best way to get from Airport to hotel and approximate cost? - Name of a tour agency for city tour and possible two-day side trip from Sao Paulo. Thanks
I'm arriving in Sao Paulo on Jan.1 and would like to watch American football. Where? Any recommendations for a hotel nearby? Thanks
