    • Bali for 2 weeks in September

      Bali May 19, 2013 at 5:45 PM

I am going to Bali for 2 weeks in September. I am a mature single female travelling along. I'd like to stay in 3 or 4 places while I'm there--I'd like to see some culture and religious temples, but would like to spend 4-5 days at the beach. I'm considering Amed (Eka Purnama cottages), maybe Sideman, Ubud, perhaps Sideman. I am a little concerned about getting around. Could someone let me know whether the places I've chosen work to show Balinese culture, with some beach? And can I get around between them pretty easily. Grateful for any answers--there are just so many possible places to go. Thanks!

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with this guesthouse so I can book with them, instead of trying to book with them when I get there: tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review...

2 mths stay for health, healing, rejuvenation and to feed my artistic soul

      Ubud May 11, 2013 at 3:57 AM

I was recently recommend UBUD as a destination to consider for time out to recover my health, and reignite my spirit, emotionally, physically and artistically. I am single, a photographer / graphic designer and seek a safe place to call home for 2 mths.
On my wish list is the following:

      • A quaint place to stay, picturesque, lush, and quiet ( budget $50 per night)
      • Air con & a good swimming pool that I can exercise in.
      • Easily accessible to markets, cafes, town - as I cant walk distances due to an injured foot. Though I have heard its easy to get around by public transport
      • Would like to also engage in art workshops - and even cooking ones would be great too
      • Affordable daily massages
      • Sound baths or similar if they exist
      • Gentle exercise classes
      • Open to other forms of healing...

Advise given to me was to find a nice place to stay and then go and visit a place called the Yoga Barn as from there I could find many opportunities for health / healing networking and so forth etc.

Does anyone have any tips for art workshops of any kind? A central place like the Yoga Barn maybe and a website perhaps etc.

Are their any forums one can use to network - maybe to find other people in Ubud where one can share interests - ie photography, or just hook up for coffee etc.

I am planning to go Sept / October
I am not a beach or bar person. More inclined to seek peaceful environs....

      Many thanks in anticipation.
P.S. I am in my 40's so I would like some comforts but it doesn't have to be extravagant. Gone are the days of backpacking :)

      Denpasar Apr 23, 2013 at 4:42 PM

I will be landing in Denpasar a day ahead of the rest of my travelling mates, and then we're headed off to Seminyak. I will be landing in the evening of May 21, 2013, and meeting the rest of my mates the next day in the early evening.

I would like to spend a day exploring Denpasar on my own, but unsure of where to stay at for the evening. A hotel I have seen with a great rate is Cityzen Renon. Anyone have any opinions about this hotel? It seems to be well rated.

Also, any suggestions on "must-sees" in Denpasar?

      Thanks in advance!

Hi. Can someone suggest good mid-range accomodation in Sanur? My wife and I will be spending our fifth anniversary there mid-November. I have a budget of about 80-100 USD per night. Saw good reviews on tripadvisor for this place called Villa Puri Ayu. Any opinions? And is it a good idea to pre-book? Could use some VT help with this. Thanks.

by odulatir Online Now Jun 4, 2010 at 9:27 AM

Later this year me and y wife will spent our holiday in the Bali Hayatt (Sanur). Last year we stayed in the Nusa Dua area and found several restaurants providing pick-up service from the hotel when comingb to the restaurant. Is this also in the Sanur area; if so I am looking for names/website/phone numbers providing that service. Furhtermore being disabled (wheelchair-user) I would like to know if there are restaurants in the Bali Hyatt hotel surrounding which can be reached by wheelchair.

Hi gang, Looking at going to Sanur sometime in Feb or Mar 2010 and I'm keen to learn to scuba dive. Can anyone recommend somewhere to go IE a dive shop or somewhere that runs courses such as do any of the hotels run courses. We're looking at going for a couple of weeks and want to relax somewhere away from the hustle and bustle, any recommendations for a hotel or cottages? Are there any PADI or similar organisations close by to sanur? Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers & Beers Dave

    • Kids, teenages and husbands - Sanur Hotel suggestions?

by shopoholic Online Now Sep 13, 2007 at 3:51 AM

We are a group of 2 families, 10 in total, in age range of 7y.o - 43y.o We like the look of the Bali Hyatt, but are concerned it will be too$$. Someone suggested the Puri Santrian? It looks good, but we don't want it to be too small that we annoy other guests. The husbands refuse to stay in Kuta - but want to be on the beach with a good bar, the teenagers don't want it to be too quiet - and want activities, the littles, just want to play at the beach and in the pool all day..... The wives just want NICE/CLEAN accommodation that satisfies all the requests. Help! if not the Hyatt can anyone suggest maybe a number 2 suggestion and a number 3 suggestion?

Can you give me ideas between the two hotels or tell me more in depth info about the Parigata as I have read loads of reviews on the other one. Thanks
