Currently have 4 days booked in Santorini. Travelling on my own and starting to think that it will be too long. Thinking of going back to Mykonos for the other 2 days. More things to do for a single gay guy. Will 2 days be enough to see the sights of Santorini?

We are a family of 9 persons with 1 Senior Citizen, 4 Adults & 4 Children aged 9, 10 & 12+, 16.
We have already booked the 3-Night Louise Cruise in Greece.
Now we require to book the Private Land Arrangements / Sightseeing (9 PAX Van with guide)

Sun 2nd Jun Cruise
1630 pm arrival Santorini, Greece, departure 2100

We are a family of 9 including children.

This is our tentative schedule:

1st June Ferry from Athens to Mykonos 07:35 - 13:15
2nd June Ferry from Mykonos to Santorini 14:45 - 17:10
4th June flight to Athens and then on to Istanbul (Turkey).
Another option was that we could take the 01:25 am early morning ferry from Santorini to Athens (arrival 08:00 am), and then fly to Istanbul. (If advisable)

OR

We could reverse the process
1st June Piraeus to Santorini (Thira) 07:00 - 11:50 Star Jet
2nd or 3rd June Santorini to Mykonos 11:55 - 14:20 Super Jet
3rd June Mykonos to Athens ferry 16:00 = 18:50 Super Jet, or flight to Athens on 4th June from Mykonos
4th June Athens to Istanbul flight

I do not know of any other way to get to Istanbul from Mykonos or Santorini.

Hi! Am planning a 2 day trip to Santorini in early June as part of a Greek vacation - would be travelling with my wife & 12-yr old son. Since we have only 2 days, where shld we base ourselves - Fira or Oia? We would be arriving by ferry from Crete & would be moving to Mykonos from Santorini. Our main objective is to enjoy the breathtaking sunset that Santorini is famous for.

my husband and i are planning a mediterranean cruise and one of the stops is santorini...we will be stopping in santorini only for 8 hours...

now, i want to go visit oia and he wants to see akrotiri...is it logistically possible to do both?

how far are they from each other?
and how's september weather in greece?

Hi, im new here from Singapore =) And im sooo interested to go to Santorini for honeymoon this coming June. Because of their magnificent view! But no nuts on how to go about going around there. We dont want to just stick in the hotel. But instead to go around but who should we get to bring us around there? To visit beaches, volcano or tram ride etc.

Any recommendations? As we thought of going free and easy instead of going in a tour group. Hope anyone could help! =)

Hi All, I'm planning for a trip during my birthday which falls in February. How's Santorini like in February? Advisable? or not?

Visited Santorini last 2008. Went to a jewelry shop where we purchased some beautiful silver painted flower rings. My husband loved some fat lady figurines which were seated on a wall shelve. I really would like to reach the lady from the jewelry shop who also was the designer of the rings I bought, to see if we are able to purchase the ladies throughout mail.

We have seen that Akrotiri has reopened to the public. The greek ministry of culture website only lists opening dates as through Oct 31. Our cruise ship will be there Nov 22nd and wonder if Akrotiri will be open to the public on that date and the hours of operation. I would really appreciate a local being able to give me a response to this question or if someone has recently visited that can give me open days and times in Nov 2012. Thanks

I will be arriving to Santorini by ferry at about 1:45 am this August. Any suggestions on where to stay that night and how to get there? I think we are planning to stay at a nice place in Oia the next 2 nights (this is a part of our honeymoon). Thanks for any advice!

I´ll go to Greece, arriving in Athens 24th September. I´ll go after to Mykonos and Santorini. I need be in Istanbul 02 October. So, I tryed find a way to arrive Turkey, and the route Kos-Bodrum seems a good option. I ask you if is possible go from Santorini to Kos. I access www.ferriesingreece.com but this route isn´t offer ferry on Sept/October. To planning my travel I need know these info. Another thing: someone told me that winds to much in Islands that time. this maybe reason to have not transportation, anyone knows about it? Can you help me? May you suggest another route to go Turkey?

I am going on a cruise in september on santorini is one of our stops. I am on the crown princess who have guides tours of the island are they worth taking or is it better to go it alone.

I will be traveling with two friends to Santorini in mid May, and have never been before. We will be staying outside of Fira for one night, and then possibly moving to oia for the next few days. What are some of the top things to do/see on the island? Best restaurants? Any tips would be helpful! We have not yet found a hotel for oia.

Hiya, I am looking for a relatively nice hotel in Oia in Santorini to stay in this coming June. We will need a room for 3 people, whether it is a studio apartment or a room in a hotem we aren't that fussy. The most important thing to us is that the place is nice, pretty and has a pool of some kind. Good transport links would be useful, so not too long a walk from a bus stop would be ideal. We have been looking around, and there are so many places with reviews that it's a bit difficult to see the wood for the trees, so a personal recommendation would come in very handy! Our budget is up to around 140euros a night for 7 nights, doesn't need to include breakfast, can be self catering or not, sleeps 3. We love the look of the typical white and blue style buildings, character would be really appreciated. Any recommendations would be extremely welcomed!

Hello, I was lucky enough to travel to Santorini a few years ago, and fell in love with many food items while there. The fabulous fava beans, the incredible cherry tomatoes...and tomato paste, the caper berries, caper leaves and of course, the pistachio nuts. I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a store on Santorini that has a website from which I can purchase some of these items? I've been searching for years for a place in the US that imports some of these, with no luck. Thanks in advance for any assistance!!

My fiance and I have decided that we want to get married in Santorini. I did visit Santorini in 2010 however didn't have wedding plans on my mind at the time so I didn't bother investigating into how to go about organising a wedding there. We're considering a visit to Santorini for Christmas week. would love suggestions for a nice hotel. We'll likely rent a car so I'm not too worried about long walks to get to what action there might be. Will there be enough places open - live music anytime - restaurants etc.? Thanks for any help.

We will be traveling to Greece with our daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grans (age 9 and 12) in early June 2012. We were thinking that 4 nights would be perfect. Can anyone recommend a hotel with a family room for 6? Or would we be better off renting a private villa. Cost is a consideration...We're hoping to spend about 400 euros a night for lodging. Hi! Myself and a friend both turn 50 next June and so are looking to celebrate with a visit to Santorini, with our families, their age ranges are mid -late 20's and a two year old toddler. There is such a choice of places to stay that we have become baffled, could any of you lovely travellers out there recommend anywhere suitable to stay, to keep the price reasonable I suspect we need to either go self catering or all inclusive but we are keeping our minds open.
