I'll be in staying in Santa Monica, hopefully at the Sea Shore Motel, in July to attend a conference being held on the UCLA Campus. I'm hoping to be able to bus both ways on the Blue Bus. Is this an easily doable and relatively safe option from the Sea Shore Motel?
Hi there, It is easy to get to UCLA from where you will be. There is the Big Blue Bus 8 that travels both ways. You won't need to change buses. It will be about 30-40 min ride I think. I have been on this one myself. Usually, Santa Monica is a safe line. I had no trouble as a woman travelling. Other buses (1, 2, 3) go to and come from UCLA at the Promenade which is walking distance from your hotel but the 8 is most convenient for you since it goes on Ocean Park. I hope this helps you.
