I would like to find out what is the place or area where the cruise ships arrive. I might be taking a cruise next year and I would like exactly where are we going to arrive. thank you
Put 'santa margherita lugure port' into google. Click on the little google map which appears. You will get the zoomable map showing you exactly where the port is in relation to the rest of the town/area. It depends on the size of the cruise ship. Once, in a large cruise ship we actually stayed outside of Portofino which is only a short distance to SML.

Oh, a tender will take you into the port area, which is at the harbor area of the center of SML.

rapallo is probably cheaper than sml, but hardly as nice a place to stay. camogli is another great village but small. ... more
