I am arriving at the airport in Santiago, and need transportation to my hotel in Santa Cruz. I will be hooking up in Santa Cruz with my tour. Can anyone suggest alternatives--bus, private transportation,car?
It would take about 2.5 hrs to get to Santa Cruz from the airport. Otherwise you could take a bus to San Fernando and another bus from there to Santa Cruz. There are also direct buses but fewer. The train also goes to San Fernando. It depends on how comfortable you are taking the bus and how much Spanish you have (also how much you want to spend). You could see if your lodging in Santa Cruz does pick ups at the airport as well or co-ordinate for them to pick you up in San Fernando.
