We will be taking a cruise at the end of May and one of their stops is Santa Barbara de Samana. I've looked at other forums and from what I gathered transportation can be costly. We're not sure where we want to go yet either! We are sure we would like to go to a beach but not sure the closest and/or nicest. Can anyone give some advice (thanks in advance!!)
I am sending below some links concerned with Samana beachs: http://www.el-bohio.com/map/index.html drparadise.com/royal_palm_re... travbuddy.com/travel-blogs/2... whalewatchsamana.de/Land-bas... puntacanaliving.com/news.htm... I hope my advices will be accomplished. Cassiovieggore

You could take a boat from Samaná to Cayo Levantado. I can ask for prices if you wanna do it without a tour. Or you could take a bus or taxi to Las Terrenas or Las Galeras. I'll ask prices and come back to you.

I didn't get any "fixed" prices because since the fuel price changes weekly, so change the transport prices too :/ but what I've been told is that a taxi (if you don't wanna go local) shouldn't charge you more than 30 US one way if you wanna go to Las Terrenas or Las Galeras. I didn't get any prices on Cayo Levantado unless you're going on a tour.
