      Is it worth it?

Saint Petersburg May 7, 2013 at 6:00 PM

Hi everyone I am going to FL soon although quite familiar with what only I know I would like to see St. Petersburg to check it out for a few days , My questions are should I fly there & rent my car there? then drive to Orlando my final destination? Or is renting a car dumb will it be safe & what about the traffic? Or bus it everywhere or can I walk to everything? And are there hotels near the Dali? Or are they too expensive? Not knowing where I'm going I would want to shop & be near the museum I guess I want to see the Dali is that worth seeing? I heard June is bad for storms there should I risk it or wait till the end of July or just hope for the best? I really prefer June any feedback would be great. Thanks so much

      Art deco safety?

Miami Beach Apr 26, 2013 at 6:11 PM

Hi looking to Miami art deco area I know Miami is a very crime ridden etc but in the tourist section? I might laugh or not I really don't want to do the tour thing since I am independent & street smart I have to ask is it easy to walk away from the tourist area & get lost never to be seen again in Overtown little haiti etc or is that walk a little too far? I do watch the 1st 48 ya know! LOL anyway as I'm cautious but not scared what is the deal with the off beaten path & what about if I want to go to Little Havana? Is it safe for as single white female? I also would like to know what the best streets are for shopping on the cheap & good food narrowing it down to just 3 block radius or two streets only? And is the Aventura mall close to the art deco area to walk to? Would like to go in June

      any feedback is appreciated thanks

by aladzz-m Online Now Jan 18, 2011 at 10:10 AM

Hi We're a family of 4 (two young children age 2 & 5). we are thinking of making trip to Florida in mid-to-late may and want to stop for 2-3 days at a nice beach city. we're debating between Naples or Sanibel Island. We will be coming from DisneyWorld so we just want a pretty beach we can relax at for a few days and I don't think we'll be doing too much sight seeing. Price wise I think Sanibel will be better but I'm not sure. Our criteria is: a)fair pricing on accomodation and dining; b)good, relaxing beach c)maybe a few side things to see. if you think there are cities that we would enjoy more, let me know, but I've been to Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Miami and Daytona and I think I want to do something different. Thank you.

Is there a place close to these shops that we can park our car for the day? Is there a fee? What's the weather like in February? Any restaurant suggestions for lunch?...We're NOT big fans of seafood and were traveling with a 2 year old. Any great bike trails we can't miss out on?

Depending on who you ask, different people say it gets boring once you picked the shells and gone to the State Park. I love the art in Sarasota, it is my next choice. I think there is more to do there for 6 days. I am bringing my two dogs, Sylvester, a 6 lb. maltese and Buster Brown a 7 Lb. miniature pincture.
