Getting from Tawau to Sandakan

Is it possible to hire a car in Tawau and drive to Sandakan? Have been searching on the internet with no luck.

shud be no problem, lots of buses, mini vans, and taxis too going from tawau thru lahad datu, sandakan and all the way to kota kinabalu... sorry do not know hire car rates as self usually use relations' cars when in sabah.

Yes, if you flying to Tawau, you can rent a car at the airport. If you so happen in Tawau town, you can take Bus or taxi transport to Sandakan. You can locate the bus terminal from this site:http://www.greenborneo.com/maptwu.html. Have a great trip.
