My wife and I will be arriving after dark (9PM) at the San Salvador Ticabus station. We will be staying overnight and possibly an extra day before continuing on with ticabus. What is a good hotel to stay at, and will they come to the station to pick us up, or do we need to hire a taxi. If a taxi, is there a "safe" way for gringos to get a taxi after dark at the ticabus station? Thanks, Ron
I would not recommend you hotels in this neighbourhood. They might be cheap, but not in good conditions. The Intercontinental hotel is like 10 min. from there, but expensive! A good alternative could be the hostals in the street going to the World Trade Center uphill (I do not remember the name of the street). You could have a room from 60$ on. Traveling by taxi is much better and safer than by bus.
