    • best way to travel for a moher and 2 children (6years)?

      Argentina Apr 29, 2013 at 3:00 PM

I'd like to travel around in Argentina for 3 weeks in July, with my 2 children from 6years (twins).
I don't want to book a vacation by a traveloperator, because I'd like to arrange my time myself at the moment itself.
Can you suggest me how I can travel the best (and the safest)? Does I have to hire a car with driver (I don't want to ride myself)? Will that not be too expensive? Or is it better to take the bus and taxi to bring me from one place to another? Do I have to do some reservations before for the bus?

Also, I saw there are campings in Argentina. Safe? Good idea to do that or better not?

      Hoping you can help me...

Transport from Buenos Aires to San Rafael and then on to El Sosneado

by boomerkc Online Now Jan 23, 2006 at 12:03 PM

I am travelling from Buenos Aires to the Valley of Tears" in the Andes where the Rugby Players plane crashed in 1972. We are going with National Geographic to explore the memorial site. I will be staying one night in BA and then require transport to San Rafael. I want ot travel in comfort. Is there a site wheich explains either train (sleeper) or bus information in English (my Spanish is very poor - Sorry!) Also, what is the best recommended hotel in San Rafael and Beunos Aires? I will be back in BA at the end of the expedition. Arriving in BA on 10 Feb 06 and departing on 20 Feb 06. Thanks for your help. Living in rural San Rafael

by Lyndelle Online Now Jan 14, 2005 at 3:19 PM

Well, I'm pioneering this San Rafael Forum! Strange, because I'm not there yet. I'm seriously considering relocating. My only orientation to this area is the restaurant Cabaña El Amigo, Ruta 143 Km. Can anybody provide me with a map of this area? I don't find it on any map I've found so far. Thanks. Lyndelle
