Hi, I'm a senior at Allegheny College, a small school near Pittsburgh, PA,and am writing a thesis about the role of American retirees in Mexico. I would like to speak to a few individuals about what attracted them to Mexico, how they perceive Americans' integration in San Miguel, and how visible the foreign presence is in the community. I am familiar with the area, having spent a semester in Queretaro and am fluent in Spanish. If you or someone you know would be willing to give me feedback I would greatly appreciate it!
Go to this website: fallinginlovewithsanmiguel.c... It is run by two women, both retirees, both focused on living in San Miguel de Allende on retirement/Social Security income. They have written a book. They have several forums on the website. Visit them (listed under New Forums), and post your question. I think you might get many volunteers/responses, and more than likely, from Carol and Norma, who run the site.
