Hi, I will be in SF for a surgery and desperately need a service/corporate apartment for 1 month or two (preferably near Union Square where my doctor is located). I have been searching hi and lo and doing this all alone, I really need a place with a kitchenette and washer. I was quoted a whopping6k for one month stay by Oakwood. Some companies with more reasonable rental ($3k) couldn't give me a date of availability. They kept saying to check again next month but I need something predictable and concrete. My surgery is coming up I cannot miss it. There is also safety concern. I will be alone, after surgery and not able to move quickly. I don't want to be in a dangerous area, also knowing that homeless gather block by block...this worries me. I am considering Airbnb which I can get a better rate directly from the owner. BUT this is risky too because owners are known to cancel bookings at the very last minute. Been planning this for months I still can't solve it. I appreciate your help..any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
I really like VRBO had good luck renting with them all through not for that amount of time.
