Making Sure Those Who Know Confirm My Plan

We plan on visiting Salzburg in September, 2010. We are driving from the Zell am Zee area and will be coming in from the south. Is this the best or correct thing to do --- drive our car to the Salzburg Sud (South) Motorway exit Sud, Alpenstrasse. Park our car and then take either a number 3 or number 8 bus into the city? Just wanting to make sure that we are on the correct path here. Thanks for your help. Denny
